We are having a strange problem with our servers disconnecting from the DCS Master Controller.   The problem seems to be associated with Smart TVs on the network interacting with DCS Server.  This is happening a two different locations where members are hosting the servers.  The problem disappears if the  SMART TV's are unplugged or moved to a different network.  According to the logs, the problems occurs at the same the Smart TV encounters multiple connects and disconnects.  Eventually the DCS MASTER terminates the connection with the servers.  Here is an excerpt from the logs:

Both locations are on AT&T Fiber.  One location involves a SONY Smart TV and the other a SAMSUNG TV.   At first we thought there was some sort of internet connection error causing both the SMART TV's and the servers encounter errors, but AGAIN the problem DOES NOT occur if the ac power to the TVs are disconnected or the TV's put on a different network.  It may be a windows problem.  Both servers are running Windows 10 Pro.

Why does DCS Server detect external network devices connecting and disconnecting from the network.   I have tried blocking the IP addresses of the Smart TV's on the server machines' Window firewall, but the messages still show up in the DCS logs.  Anyone have an idea of what's happening?

I don't trust how intrusive smart TV technology is getting these days. (My TV's are completely isolated from the whole internet. I use an external HDMI device connected to it that I trust more for my streaming), but even so... daymn - I never thought they'd interfiere with a PC like this. That is to say I have no idea of what is happening per say. I do have some thoughts on workarounds:

If your router supports it, you could have the smart TV's on a different subnet. (So if your server is on a 192.168.0.x network, create a second IP for your router on 192.168.1.x subnet, and assign IP's for your smart TV's there. They should still be able to look at the router and use the internet, without connecting through to your DCS server.

Likewise, if your router supports VLAN's - you could get the TV's isolated completely.

Alternatively, with windows firewall, have you checked to confirm that you have blocked in BOTH directions. It could be that somehow your server is connecting to the smart TV's, and not the other way around.

Also maybe check to see if the smart TV's are being detected by Windows as a device in the device manager, or external/network monitors, etc. If so, don't delete them from Device Manager (this will just cause them to come back on the next time you restart the PC) - but rather right-click on them and choose Disable. The logs seem to show that the smart TV's are being detected as an actual connected device - more than just a remote machine, so this might be the first place to start.

Also - consider disabling hotplug in DCS by adding the following line to DCS's autoexec.cfg file. This may possibly stop it from reconnecting in DCS the first time it disconnects.

no_device_hotplug = true

I'm hoping someone who's more familiar with smart TV's and their inner workings might be able to give you a definitive answer, but if not - there's some ideas on what you may be able to do to stop the interference with DCS, but if not, hope the above is helpful.
