Jyge Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 With the old launcher I used to have: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin-mt\DCS.exe" --force_openXR and it launched with multi-CPU and was it "quad-view" anyway I mean with foveated rendering in VR (I have Varjo Aero). Since there is a new launcher I have been happily playing, but it just occurred to me that I have actually no idea if it is still running on those parameters? I used to see the foveated rendering in Night Vision Goggles on some planes, was it A-10 or F/A-18, I would need to test it, but just for now, I would like to ask if anyone actually knows?
Phantom711 Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 OpenXR is the default API now. There is no need to force it by any means. Also there is now single threaded version of DCS anymore. The bi and bin-mt folders both still exist but both do the ssame thing as far as I know and one will eventually vanish. In the launcher and also in the VR settings there is a checkmark for "Quad Views". You need to enable it in order to use Quad Views and apparently also Varjo Foveated as I learned the other day. vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord.
Jyge Posted December 3, 2024 Author Posted December 3, 2024 Oh, I finally got to check it once more - I got distracted by new joystick set-up, the quad view was not active, but then on the other hand, when I activate it I get an exclamation mark that says: "Warning! Active OpenXR layers detected: OpenXR-Varjo-Foveated\XR_APILAYER_MBUCCHIA_varjo_foveated" What about actually the Eye Tracking Option? It is also deactivated, but I wonder if it does anything useful?

You can ignore the warning messages, they are just informing you of all the OpenXR API layers you have installed. AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
