squatchy Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Using the AGM-88C PB codes; entering the code for the EWR-1L13: Code 101, the code is crossed out, Will fire, but does not track to target. Is there any fix for this coming soon? I have also seen that code 102 for the EWR-55G6 is also blocked out with a X in the MFD. sorry if this has been mentioned, but i didn't see this directly mentioned. Aaron aka squatchy

Aaron aka squatchyI think from memory, search radars have become defunct in the HARM codes as they operate in a different band to what the HARM is set up for. Probably they are not worthwhile expending a missile on since HARMs were designed for killing SAM search and track radars.Cheers!Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk W10 Home 64Bit, Intel Skylake I5 6600K 3.50GHz, ASUS ROG Stryx Z270F MoBo, 64GB G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4 3200 RAM, Samsung 960 Pro 512GB M.2 SSD (OS), Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD, 2TB Seagate SDHD, 2TB WD Green HDD, Gigabyte 3060 12GB VRAM
gasmate Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 I raised this topic in a different thread, although I was wondering why it was possible for the HARM seeker to "see" both those EWR's and launch on them in TOO mode. The HARM will track towards the EWR briefly then go dumb. This little bug seems to have fallen on deaf ears as no-one has acknowledged it as far as I can tell. 26 minutes ago, Scotch75 said: Probably they are not worthwhile expending a missile on since HARMs were designed for killing SAM search and track radars. Cheers! It is annoying that those EWR's show on the HARMs TOO page, sometimes it can be a bit cluttered and having false targets which a missile could potentially be wasted on is frustrating. The fact that the PB codes were added at some point and now don't work tells me that ED have figured out that these EWR's should not be able to be targeted by the HARM but haven't yet fully implemented the fix. 1
okopanja Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Operating frequency of of the radar is 150-170MHz => its a meter range and HARM should not be able to guide. These radars, while offering a good ECM resistance and being in theory mobile, have a lengthy relocation process, meaning that cruise missiles will be able to destroy them if not protected. As a matter of fact, one of these radars was destroyed on March 24th 1999 during the first wave precisely due it's static nature. I assume they concluded its better to leave it in active role as long as it lasts, since moving it was not considered practical. Meanwhile, you should adjust your tactics. Condition: green
ED Team Lord Vader Posted December 9, 2024 ED Team Posted December 9, 2024 Hello @squatchy You can refer to the table in our manual page 420 to 422 that includes the usable codes for the HARM PB mode. The EWR codes, like 101 are not contemplated in this table. Regarding EWR radars being shown in the TOO scope is something I am currently investigating. Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
