I did not report this as a Bug, initially, as I thought it was an issue on my end, but after extensive testing, I am now considering this a Bug. Additionally, this is my final attempt to resolve, and that is posting it in the Bug section, and expecting no support.

Here is my initial post: See final entry.

I mapped the TDC to a Hat switch, and same result, so its nothing specific to an AXIS, its specific to TDC function, so now its a total loss.

As a last resort, with no keybindings assigned to the Harrier, I jumped into the Harrier again, touched nothing, then hit "DESG" on the Left MFD Map page, it showed "STP". As soon as I hit the default keyboard keybinding for TDC AFT ("J"), it went from STP to TGT,,,,not good! I think I tried about everything at this point.

Opening two threads for the same problem won't help you...

As intended, since you moved your INS target point away from the STP.

Read carefully Chuck's guide, since the manual is incomplete and unmaintained like the module, to me it seems that you're confusing the complex A-10 procedures with the complicated AV-8 procedures.

Initially, it was only 1 thread open because it was initially perceived to be an an AXIS issue, later to be proven not to be valid, so I opened up another in what was presumed to be a more appropriate thread. It just made sense to continue both so others may be helped if experiencing similar issues . And as you can tell, there were no responses.

Anyway, moving along, I think you are overlooking the point I am trying to make. So please focus on this, IF I bind anything to the TDC keybindings, and hop into the Harrier and do nothing more than press the DESG button on the map, it does NOT goto STP as it should, it goes to TGT. That is NOT what is supposed to happen. When I wipe out the keybindings for the Harrier, this does not occur. Chucks guide is not going to help me as this is NOT a procedural issue, as no procedures are being performed. This has been tested with other players online while doing a screen share.

Again, if you hop in your Harrier and just hit the DESG button, you are going to see STP, agreed? I will NOT if I bind TDC function to anything on my HOTAS.

Check axis dead zones, check for doubled bindings, check spurious outputs from the device, check for firmware programming errors, remove mods, scripts, etc... Something is moving your TDC without user input. As you can see in the images here https://forum.dcs.world/topic/365003-map-designate-only-goes-to-tgt-and-not-stptpod-to-soi-wont-goto-stp/#findComment-5563870 I have no issues with both axis and key bindings assigned for TDC.

I had mentioned a few times that I completely wiped out the keybindings for the Harrier and only assigned 1 axis to the TDC with same issue, I had also temped out my Saved Games folder so DCS would build a fresh/vanilla one, and it did. So no double bindings, no mods or scripts running. You do bring up something that I have NOT done, and that is deadzone. I typically have them set for about 2, but to your point, when I did fresh binding, i did NOT Axis tune. I see your point about the potential for something moving my Axis. Its possible that even with my initial settings of 2, it was not enough, could still be a small influence there for sure. I will check that later and report back,, ,but a very valuable theory, thanks.

My settings:

Ministick is not so precise, so you need a deadzone bigger than 2.

Sir,,,, thats a winner!!!!! That was the problem the entire time. Also the reason why I couldnt "UNDESIGNATE", because the axis was constantly influencing a move when the deadband was either at 0 or 2. I had to set it to 6 before it stopped influencing the TDC. I wouldnt have resolved this without your input. As you can see, I wasnt getting any tips in any threads. Something that simple was not considered, now it makes perfect sense! I appreciate you sticking it out with me to resolve, you could have easily walked away. many thanks again!

Very interesting settings by the way, why so different for Vert vs Hor?

Glad to help you. I use different curves because I prefer a faster vertical slewing of the reticle with this module.
