Is it even possible to complete Heavy Sky mission 4?

The mission wants you to fly from sochi to nalchik but in the meantime you need to fight a flight of 4 F16A. 

You are a flight of 4 SU33 and you are supposed to be reinforced by a flight of 2 MIG29 unless I am mistaken.

I've tried everything to beat the F16s including lunching early to force them to react as well as cranking and diving into the mountains to escape radar lock. 

The end result is always the same. F16A destroy me with AIM 120. Doesn't matter if I stay high doesn't matter if I am flying 100 meters from the ground in the mountains it's always a matter of time before I get deleted. 

The AI doesn't fair better either. Usually all my wingmen die as well as 1 of the two MIGs. 

I've replayed the mission like 15 times and I can't survive it no matter what. Best result is kill a single F16 and get fucked by his buddie's AIM 120

Just tried that mission and received a mission success message. I took out 2 F-16s. My wingmen took out 1 before all dying. Some other flight took out the last one, I think. I ready didn’t pay close attention to the debrief.

It didn’t make much sense to me to fly the 1st waypoint. I went straight across the mountain chain, then headed down the east side until about 80 km from Nalchik. At that point I turned deeper into the mountains looking for trouble. (Edit: the reason for my flight plan was to position myself between Nalchik and the F-16s so I had someplace to run, if necessary. It also helped to let me dictate the fight.) Told my wingmen to attack bandits, while I took on an F-16 attempting to flank us. Killed him. Turned into the fray and killed another but lost my wingmen. Landed before another group of enemy chasing me could catch up.
