norman99 Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 I just updated DCS to v2.9.10.39480, which seems to have included an updated ModelViewer2.exe. After loading one of the SuperCarrier models, I then attempt to open the Carrier Plugin UI, with the intention of investigating the paths and placements of the new deck crew. Unfortunately, the Carrier Plugin UI no longer loads. When selecting it, either from the tools menu or the toolbar icon, nothing happens. 1

norman99 Posted December 10, 2024 Author Posted December 10, 2024 (edited) If I have the time, I’ll roll back the latest update, and see if I can grab the modelviewer2.exe from the previous DCS version. Hopefully the Carrier Plugin UI works, and I can return to the current build. Whilst obviously not officially supported, having the ability to import and view the new flight director data, opens up some very interesting modding options. Edited December 10, 2024 by norman99 1

Have you found out which build would work with the Carrier Plugin UI? Thanks a lot!
norman99 Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 (edited) I can't remember the exact version number, but only 1 or 2 versions prior to v2.9.10.39480 worked. I saved a copy of the SuperCarrier folder from the current release before rolling back to use the Carrier Plugin UI. I've only had a brief look, but it seems launch/recovery positions and taxi routes are still viewable as previously, but I'm unable to load/view any of the new data associated with the taxi directors. Without having access to the their positions and the individual taxi segments they control, any mod that aims to change the taxi directors would be challenging. The data is definitely available to edit in the lua's, we just need a method to view it. Obviously ED have these tools, they even show as much in the updated SuperCarrier manual, (although it's not from ModelViewer2 as we know it, as there is a sea surface and horizon present). I'll definitely be keeping an eye on any ModelViewer2 updates going forward, we may get lucky. Edited December 24, 2024 by norman99

I just tried version 2.9.9, its Carrier Plugin UI can load the .edm model files of the supercarrier. When I loaded the .lua files of the Taxi/Route files afterwards, the taxi routes were able to be shown on the supercarrier model, however, the coordinates where my mouse cursor was pointing at became totally wrong. I need to reload the .edm files again in order to reset the coordinate system, so that the coordinates of the turning points shown on the model matches those in the .lua file. By the way, the newest update 2.9.11 has the same problem as 2.9.10, the Carrier Plugin UI does not pop up when selected. 1
