DCS Will not start in VR PiMax Crystal

I don't know what I did wrong but now PiMax will not open DCS in VR. it just stays in the stars FOV view and stays in 2-D. it all started when I was messing with open XR in Steam?

 

any one could help?

Drop your “C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\Logs\dcs.log” file (may just be a text document named “dcs” if your Windows is hiding file extensions).

Before you “messed with SteamVR” (which you don’t need to with Pimax) were you using the PimaxXR runtime or PimaxPlay OpenXR as your VR runtime?

I also noticed a similar post recently in the ED Discord server, don’t know if this was also you. 

If you were using either PimaxXR or PimaxPlay OpenXR then open up which ever one you were using and make sure you hit the button to set it as the default OpenXR runtime and haven’t accidentally set SteamVR to be your runtime.

Any reason for trying to do OpenXR stuff in SteamVR?

Try to go back to Pimax Play 1.29 and use PimaxXR.   Stay away from Steam, totally inefficient runtime.

@71st_Mastiff , based on the ED Discord response looks like you’ve solved this now, ie like I mentioned by setting the OpenXR runtime back to Pimax and not SteamVR.

yes solved by completely shut down unplug then reboot computer replug in PiMax and then UI the PiMax back to OpenXR.

Any reason for trying to do OpenXR stuff in SteamVR? they said they fixed the issues with open XR? apparently not!

Who’s “they” and which issues with OpenXR are you referring to?

Has there been as fix? Just got the crystal light but DCS won't run VR mode . . .

No "fix" required. Drop your dcs log file here as it may give indications as to why it's falling back to 2D. I'm assuming you're attempting to launch in VR, e.g. have ticked the "Enable VR headsets" box in the DCS VR settings, or selected the little man in the goggles by the big orange button in the new launcher (which does the same thing).

What is set as your OpenXR runtime? You have PimaxXR installed, or have PimaxPlay installed and have selected Pimax OpenXR within it? The dcs log file will help identifying more of that info as well.

for no reason, my Pimax Crystal Light simply stop working with DCS tonight.  I do the same excate procedure I do for months but tonigh, DCS open only in monitors mode.  All update are done.  Steam is not installed.

I try to reinstall DCS and Pimaxplay but no luck so far. Pimaxplay is working, I see the galaxie view.  From what I see, my Pimax Crystal Light works well. Any hints will be appreacietd

Your problem is ReShade. Either wrong version or not installed properly. Install this tool and untick the ReShade API layer and then it will work. https://github.com/fredemmott/OpenXR-API-Layers-GUI

Also run DCS from bin and not bin-mt

You've also set an affinity mask on your processes so a bunch of cores are unusable by DCS, this can cause stutters or other perf issues.
