External views

Little late to the party with this one and had a question on external views.  Played the first couple of missions and can't seem to view any other aircraft from F2 besides my own; is that intentional or did something change in an update you didn't want to?

Finished (and really enjoyed) 'The Big Show' around a year or two ago and definitely could hop from aircraft to aircraft with F2 during the missions (made tons of screenshots either paused, cruising along, or riding the silk). Just now went in to pick a mission and try it out, and it seems only the external view of your plane is allowed.

It's working for me otherwise in DCS so don't think it's user error (although I'm certainly not above it!) so wanted to check in here.

Yes it’s intentional. It’s a consequence of map icons being turned off for a more authentic navigational experience.

Bummer, it was really enjoyable getting to hop around and watch what other flights were up to. Thanks for letting me know though.
