"Airmen from the 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division practiced a new rescue scenario for a downed crew.

As part of the exercise, the crew of a downed OH-58D Kiowa Warrior had to fly to a location about a mile from the crash site, where they would be picked up by another OH-58D. Because of the small size of the Kiowa helicopters, the rescued airmen had to strap themselves into the fuselage and fly outside.

Such rescue methods were used in Iraq in 2004 and 2007, when AH-64 Apache evacuations took place.

The exercise, conducted by Big Red One, was intended to help develop procedures for such an eventuality, but without apparent success."

Yep, i merely used this to draw attention, obviously this non standard and operational. hehe but thank you for the information! i wanted to make it clear that the current azimuth does not allow ample movement inside the cabin and i have seen videos where the cpg can shoot a bit further to their leftt /up and down. 😛

Yes, the angles could be a bit wider, especially when you open the armored cover on the left side.
