Tony Trout Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 (edited) I just recently started looking at DCS: Steam Edition and I need to know one thing: How do I connect my DCS account & my Steam account together?? Any help would be very appreciated! (The reason I placed my question here in "Chit-Chat" is because, being completely new to DCS, I didn't know where to place my question. I hope you'll forgive me...) Thank You, Tony Trout Edited December 20, 2024 by Tony Trout
Art-J Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Not a Steam DCS user myself, but I think you can't connect accounts they way you probably intend to do. What you can do is transfer license keys purchased on Steam to ED store version, NOT the other way around however! More details can be found in FAQ in Steam section of the forum: i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Thank You, Tony Trout Hi Tony, I may be able to help as I have bought all my DCS modules on Steam and launch DCS from my Steam account. First though, are you asking how you would connect your Steam account to DCS, IF you were to install DCS World from Steam on to your PC, or have you ALREADY installed DCS World on your PC and can't connect/launch DCS? If you haven't yet installed DCS World from your Steam account, then as part of the installation and first running of DCS, you should be asked to complete a registration form as a new DCS user and have to respond to an email sent to you to complete the process, after that when you run DCS from Steam your login credentials will be passed to DCS and the main DCS menu will be shown where you select aircraft/missions etc. If you have installed DCS from your Steam account and it won't run then you could have a look at the DCS help section on Steam. https://steamcommunity.com/app/223750/discussions/ Do note though that I installed DCS on Steam 3 years ago and the DCS main login & launcher pages are now different - though I doubt that the actual connection process from your Steam account to DCS registered account has changed, but I could be wrong about that. Oh, and welcome to the Free to Play DCS World, make sure that you count how many arms and legs that you have now, I seem to be missing most of mine.

I have, in fact, already installed DCS: Steam Edition onto my computer. DCS will launch - but it's a slow process. A friend of mine who is a computer whiz told me before this that I would need to upgrade my video card on my computer (which I am in the process of doing as finances allow me to.....I've been disabled since birth with Cerebral Palsy & Hydrocephalus (but I've also been blessed with the ability to play several musical instruments but lately, I've gotten into flight simulation in a B-I-G way and I want to try to do all I can to begin this fun journey). Along with, "FlightGear 2020", the rest of the games I play on my computer are all from Steam: American Truck Simulator DCS: Steam Edition Microsoft Flight Simulator Take On Helicopters I believe that's all of the computer games I've got at the moment. I sure hope you or someone there at Steam can help me out with my issue.... Thanks, Tony T. Edited December 20, 2024 by Tony Trout

A friend of mine who is a computer whiz told me before this that I would need to upgrade my video card on my computer Hi Tony, 'fraid I can't help with hardware stuff, it's not something I know much about, though if DCS does actually run and display the DCS main menu then your original question re how to connect from Steam to DCS is already working. Perhaps best if you log a question on the Steam DCS link that I posted earlier detailing the actual problem that you have, with details of your system, then someone there may be able to help.
Tony Trout Posted December 21, 2024 Author Posted December 21, 2024 Okey-dokey, I'll do that soon. Thanks for the help you've tried to give me so far, though! It's very appreciated!
