kyleh613 Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 When you kill a friendly target, none of your kills are counted after the mission ends. I've been getting penalized for this quite a bit, and its frustrating because I know for a fact that I am not killing any friendly targets. I've been really careful about that, and yet time and time again, after a mission ends, it'll say that i've committed fratricide and won't count all of the kills i've made. I'm of the opinion that this is a bug, but would like to be proven wrong. I've looked at the after combat briefings very carefully everytime, and they never show anything about me having killed any friendly targets.
Martillo1 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Well, once it happenned to me: I am from Spain, so in my Logbook that is my country. I set up a mission as usual, with Red Alliance containig only Russia, and every other country (included Spain) belonging to Blue Alliance. Then I created a flight group and selected the group's country as Russia (Red). Afterward I created a enemy ground group (Blue), and selected Spain for its nacionality. Fired up the mission and killed al the enemy units, as usual :D, and when I exited from the mission I was informed I had commited "Fratricide" and all my combat points were erased... so they were set to zero. So if you are, let us say an USA citizen and your Logbook reflects it, you better do not kill USA units ;), even if you fly as a russian pilot and USA is in the enemy alliance. Maybe I am mistaken, so any input on this subject is welcome. Vista, Suerte y al Toro! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
kyleh613 Posted July 4, 2009 Author Posted July 4, 2009 If that is true, then that means you pretty much have to fly as Russian for the campaigns, because they are almost all american as the enemy. I hope DCS changes this in a future patch. That would explain my problems, because i've been flying as american.

An unwelcome outcome of not flying your own nacionality is that you will not be given your country's condecorations and medals. I already have many condecorations of Spain. Vista, Suerte y al Toro! ArchAngel Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 A few days ago I was playing mp and somehow I was killed. I saw in text the person who shot me down. I chewed him out a little bit, not too harsh, but this person, whos name i dont remember, insisted he did'nt shoot me. About 2 days after that i was on mp and somehow i shot down another player, though i had just taken off from a farp. the player, i believe his name was santyago, was approximately 40-45 ks away. Most definitely weird. Btw, the player i chewed out, i offer my utmost heartfelt appology. 1 An expert is one who knows more and more about less and less until he knows absolutely everything about nothing.
