Moa Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Have you downloaded the StarForce update for Vista? (SFUPDATE) http://www.star-force.com/support/sfdrvup.zip Described on the page http://www.star-force.com/support/drivers/
pandoraefretum Posted July 2, 2009 Author Posted July 2, 2009 Thanks, for the tip But yes, updated StarForce for Vista Interestingly I copied both msvcrt files from system32 to Lockon's directory (the opposite from what most ppl recommend)... the game works However it stops loading 50% of the time after I select a mission... How do I clean out registry after uninstalling FC 1.12b ? Will it be done automatically.. ? Is there a utility that can Search & Destroy Lomac references in the reg ? cheers, Roland
159th_Viper Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 How do I clean out registry after uninstalling FC 1.12b ? Will it be done automatically.. ? Is there a utility that can Search & Destroy Lomac references in the reg ? cheers, Roland I have always done it manually. Apart from Registry Cleaners ( Free Vista Software ) I cannot comment on other utilities that will do it automatically, and even then I would not know if they can specifically target individual references. BrumTx Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I KNOW THIS WORKS WITH WINDOWS XP NOT SURE ABOUT VISTA DON'T BLAME ME IF COMPUTER EXPLODES After a complete uninstallation via the Add/Remove programs tab, apart from clearing the registry via 'regedit' you also need to manually delete your Ubisoft Folder from your Programs directory as well as your Modman Folder from your HDD Directory. There are leftover folders after an uninstall that explains the issue you are experiencing. To clear the registry, via the start menu, hit run and type 'regedit'. Hit OK and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE and find the Eagle Dynamics entry. Highlight and delete. Do the same for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE and the Ubisoft entry. Highlight and delete. Reboot. Remember the 346 Fire Fighters, Medics & Police who died on 9-11....... pandoraefretum Posted July 3, 2009 Author Posted July 3, 2009 Hmm, Got rid of msvcrt errors with a clean install thx to the tips for cleaning the registry. Also fixed the bad shading with Nvidia by setting shadows to all planar. Now I still get Lomac not responding 50% of the time after I select a mission and click on fly.... it just sizzles out (dies) on loading... without any indication of this other than if I bring up task manager and find out it's not responding. I installed to user/username/ubisoft as another post recommended. So my question is ; do I miss out much by not installing FC 1.12b ? ie just using Lomac 1.02 ? I know the Su25T is a good flight model, but is that it ? Of course I have Black Shark, but I'm more of a jet sim fan than a chopper fan...
