Nightcargo Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 I have been flying BS with a simular joystick profile and can manipulate the sensor very precisely. In Flaming Cliffs the sensor moves basically full scale left right up and down with just a flick of the microstick of my Cougar. I tried just using the keyboard and the same happens with just a quick push of the required key. In my searching I found someone speaking of adjusting the MaxFPS to 30 in he graphic.cfg file. I can't find this file. Any help with this or other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Asus Rampage II i7 920 @ 3.8 EVGA580GTX 6G Corsair WinVista64 Hog
104th_Crunch Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Configure your microstick to operate as a mouse. Use the mouse to slew the TDC in Lock On.
golfsierra2 Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 The graphics.cfg is located at ...\Lock On\Config\ You can manually add the code MaxFPS = 30; to it, so the end of your graphics.cfg file should look something like this: ObjectFogMultiplier = 0.6; CivilianRoutes = ".\\Bazar\\Routes\\"; AviFolder = "Movies/"; PilotNames = 0; MaxFPS = 30; kind regards, Raven.... Boberro Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 I suggest use mouse to slew. It is so precisy that you can fast relock targets. IIRC this MaxFPS setting will cut FPS to desired value, so IMHO it is better to play 60 FPS with mouse than 20-30 FPS overall ;] Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... golfsierra2 Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Yes, you should play around with the MaxFPS values to find the most suitable. kind regards, Raven.... [sigpic]http://www.crc-mindreader.de/CRT/images/Birds2011.gif[/sigpic]
Nightcargo Posted July 7, 2009 Author Posted July 7, 2009 Thanks for the help guys! I have tried to change the TDC to Mouse I pull down Mouse from Input Device, change to AXIS It shows the default value as a View. Delete those, go to TDC change it to AXIS0 then AXIS1 for the other, hit OK When I reenter Options/Input it is back to the Default View stuff. Any ideas for this. I also read somewhere in these forums about ensuring Mouse View is on. I am not too good with WinVista but when I go to Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics|Lock On\Config I couldn't really open any of the files. I told it to open with Note Pad. Now I can see what I need but when I go to edit things with in the file I receive an error "cannot create File then the path". What do I have to do actually edit what needs editting? I log in as Administrator so should have full authority. Thanks Asus Rampage II i7 920 @ 3.8 EVGA580GTX 6G Corsair WinVista64 Hog
104th_Crunch Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 You don't have to have mouse view enabled. I know I don't. It is very strange that after you setup the mouse in Lock On to control the TDC and delete the entries to use as view that it resets itself? I have never heard of that problem before ever.

Thanks I had same problem under XP... but looong time ago. I was so frustrated. .. I did something that it saved but don't remembe what I did. I know I selected files to be not "read only" and I reinstalled LO if I remember correctly. Also I did few things... crap somehow I repaired this issue. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. S77th-konkussion Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 I had same problem under XP... but looong time ago. I was so frustrated. .. I did something that it saved but don't remembe what I did. I know I selected files to be not "read only" and I reinstalled LO if I remember correctly. Also I did few things... crap somehow I repaired this issue. First- highlight the entire lock on folder. Right click\properties\ remove the read only flag\ apply. Turn OFF the UAC's in control panel. If that doesn't work- copy the file to your desktop, make the edits, then delete & replace the file. Nightcargo Posted July 8, 2009 Author Posted July 8, 2009 Thanks konkussion! Actually thanks all!! Got it working, the final staw was the Read Only. I did it for the config file but not the lock on file. Also the UAC thing. Thanks guys! Asus Rampage II i7 920 @ 3.8 EVGA580GTX 6G Corsair WinVista64 Hog
