Jsood Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Some times in the F-14A wingman get's stuck behind the tanker and wont leave. any tips why that happens?
JupiterJoe Posted February 15 Posted February 15 (edited) The AI wingman's fuel probe sometimes (most of the time these days), does not make proper contact with the basket. It hovers around the two o'clock position. As a workaround I ask the wingman to RTB and then join-up. That way he stops trying to refuel. Of course he won't have taken any fuel onboard and is likely to run out before the end of the mission, but I'm not sure what else one can do until it's fixed by ED/HB. In addition to this I believe most of the time the AI wingman's ext. fuel tanks are empty at the start of the mission. So he's always likely to run out before you. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or the fault of the mission programmer. Was the fuel probe located in the drogue properly? The bug I'm talking about had the probe hovering outside the drogue at the two o'clock position. That aspect seems to have been fixed with the last patch. (EDIT: Not fixed. See below.) 15 mins seems a very long time. Are you sure that's accurate? Did you ask him to rejoin/RTB? The AI usually launch with empty external tanks, so can take longer to re-fuel than you do. Yes, the probe was located in the drogue properly. I asked him to rejoin after 7~8 minutes, it took him twice that long to do it though.
JupiterJoe Posted March 3 Posted March 3 (edited) Still broken: Quote I have made mention of this here: Edited March 3 by JupiterJoe 1 Intel Core i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz - 64GB RAM - Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 - Microsoft Sidewinder Force-feedback 2 - Virpil Mongoose CM-3 Throttle
Rokkett Posted June 23 Posted June 23 As of most recent patch, this seems to be happening again: F-14 AI refuelling probe not making proper contact with the drogue. 2
