WarRoom80 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 (edited) Naval Fighter Weapons School is a sub training division under the Naval Air Training Command (NATC). Our goal is to train Student Naval Aviators how to become the best fighter pilots in the world. In order to do this, training must be done in a strict, regulated manner. All students will attend NATC, to learn basic flight skills. Starting out in Corpus Christi Texas, and working their way up to Creech Air Force Base, Nevada, students will be given all of the tools necessary to be the best. And if those students can prove to be the best, they may even be invited to attend the USN Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor program, known as Top Gun. An intensive dogfighting and weapon training program. NAVAL AIR TRAINING COMMAND The Naval Air Training Command operates Training Air Wing 4 out of Corpus Christi, Texas. It conducts operations in five Naval Air Stations in three states. The Mission of Naval Air Training Command is to train the world’s finest combat quality aviation professionals, delivering them at the right time, in the right numbers, and at the right cost. Naval Flight School consists of four phases: Aviation Pre-flight Indoctrination. Located at Corpus Christi, Texas. All Student Naval Aviators (SNA) start here learning the basic theory of flight in class. Primary Flight Training. SNAs will then head to Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas. They will learn basic flying skills in a piston engine propeller plane. Intermediate Flight Training. Located at Meridian, Mississippi. SNAs will transfer to a jet trainer to undertake more mission oriented skills. Advanced Flight Training Depending on their jet choice, AFT will focus on a specific skill set required for that airframe. After, SNAs must choose their airframe and stick with the program until they are completely finished. Fleet Replacement Squadron. Once all training is complete, the newly commissioned Naval Aviator will be placed into the FRS. From here, missions will be available, as well as annual training. Set up an interview today! WarRoom80 Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 Did you know the Virtual Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor (SFTI) program, commonly known as TOPGUN, operates in selecting and training simulator pilots? The SFTI program accepts highly skilled pilots from various virtual squadrons across Digital Combat Simulator, selecting only the best based on their operational performance and leadership potential. Once admitted, these pilots undergo an intensive training syllabus focused on advanced air combat tactics, threat analysis, and instructional techniques. Beyond refining their own combat skills, the primary goal of the program is to train these pilots to be instructors. Graduates return to their respective squadrons not just as elite aviators, but as subject matter experts responsible for teaching and mentoring their fellow simulator pilots. This ensures that the latest tactics and combat strategies are disseminated fleet-wide, maintaining the highest level of combat effectiveness across naval aviation.
