JSF_Aggie Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Are the ECS related functions modeled in the Hornet, such that in cold enough conditions, will I need to enable Engine ANTI-ICE, Windshield ANTI-ICE, the Defogger, etc? Thank you.
Solution Phantom711 Posted March 3 Solution Posted March 3 The Engine-ANTI ICE…yes definitely. If you fly through clouds in cold weather the engine icing warning will actually come on if you don‘t. It will also extinguish after some time, when you turn ENG ANTI ICE on. The others I don‘t know, but I would guess it‘s not modelled. vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. That's true, but I've never seen or heard of negative consequences in DCS for ignoring that warning (would be a nice addition). So depending how you look at it, you might or might not "need" to activate it. 1
JSF_Aggie Posted March 4 Author Posted March 4 Thanks all. I was just looking at if there were any switches that I should not bother including or wiring up on my home cockpit. Appreciate the replies.
