dragon´s missionpack for FC2 ?

 

Hi

the dragon´s missionpack it´s this only for black shark and warthog,no FC2 ?

This Multiplayer Missionpack is including some coop-missions with FC2.

The Singleplayer Missionpack is BlackShark only.

Im playing the convoy hunt mission and the black shark is clear. there is no skin on it.What do i need to down load

Can someone help. I down loaded the new 5.9 verison and in start up there is a long discription of the game and it wont go away. also i still have no skin for the ka 50

Can we see a screen shot of the no skin? Not sure what you mean, is it invisible if so Computer specs would be helpful to diagnose your problem.:joystick:

Usually its the Video card setting for this Sim. Thats causes the invisible skin if ATI its the Adaptive aliasing turn off or Nvidia adaptive power setting change to power setting.

@ chardly38: What version of DCS:BlackShark do you have installed and how did you installed it?

 

This missionpack is only for V 1.0.2!!

You have to install the vanilla version 1.0 and then the patch 1.0.2!

It is wrong to install v1.0 then patch it to 1.0.1 and then patch it to 1.0.2!

This would cause many errors!

I have 1.0.2 but i dont remember how it was installed. to long ago. I notice the the skins are us army and marines. Do i need to install them. I will reinstall the game. I am trying to take screen shots but its not happening. It only happens with the usa skins

Also i noticed there are some great sounds (editor music) can they be played through the game.

I don't use custom skins for my missions. The US-skins are original of this game.

If you don't can see them, there have to be something wrong with your installation.

 

I don't used any music in my missions because of copyright.

The only sound i'm useing is a radio static sound for the messages (trigger).

Since I have joined DCS forums I havent managed to post much. So its high time I did.

Anyway I have just downloaded your single player mission pack & played Defense Of Gelendzhik wow! what a brilliant mission. Enjoyed it immensely with all the great action kept me busy all last Sunday.

Love it to bits well done. As it a difficult mission it would be extremely interesting to see an expert play this mission & record it as a trk then post it for the BS community.

Has anyone done this so far I wonder with anyone of your missions?

I have done a reinstall ( did not know i needed to unzip data 1) and also the 1.0.2 patch only. Now i have us skins. now on to play your missions. thanks for the work you have done. by the end of this month i will have to do this again because of a new computer build. also

 

problem #2

 

Some times after flying for a while i will lose the ability to shoot the vikhr rockets and the gun is way off. I will also lose on the heads up display distance to the targets. Is the laser range finder shutting down. If so what can i do to get it back. I havent been hit. Im playing rookie terrorists.

The problem with the laser: YES the laser range finder is burning out.

The Shkval of the Ka-50 includes many devices.

- A high resolution camera.

- A electro-optical aiming system to track targets.

- Two low-powered beam-ride-laser (horizontal & vertical) to guide the Vikhr.

- A high-power range measuring laser system with 4.8 KW.

 

The range measuring laser is creating a lot of heat with 4.8 KW.

It has a tolerance of ±5m at 10Km.

This mean the laser beam have to "fly" 10km, have to be reflected from a camoflaged surface and have to "fly" 10Km back home to the Shkval.

 

On page 454 (13-4: Service limitations of I-251V Shkval) of the manual you can see the limits of the Shkval.

 

Laser lifespan = 5 series (30 minute minimum interval)

Series = 16 cycles (5 seconds minimum interval)

Cycle = 10 seconds continuous illumination

But how to handle this in flight?

You can't count the seconds, cycles and series while you are in the battle.

 

 

 

 

You have to do it like that:

 

- Find the switch [Laser Standby ON/OFF] on the K-041 Panel on the left side.

- Assigne this switch to a switch on your Joystick or Throttle.

-> By activating this switch the laser (Beam-ride and Range-finder) is on Standby (ON but not fireing).

-> By deactivating this switch the Laser is completly OFF.

 

- Let the switch OFF and fly into the target area.

- Switch on the Shkval (camera, not laser) and find some targets.

- Move the Shkval on the target and lock it.

-> [TA] will appear in the Shkval. This is the "automatic tracking" of the electro-optical-targeting-system and the Shkval will follow the target.

 

- Now activate the laser-switch to [standby] and lock the target again.

-> In the HUD a countdown of 8 seconds will appear. The range-finder is active and fireing for this 8 seconds and will create a lot of heat. (your first cycle is done)

 

- Now launch the Vikhr.

-> The beam-ride will be established to guide the Vikhr.

-> A new countdown will appear in the HUD. It counts the seconds till the impact PLUS 6 seconds. Till the countdown is counting the beam-ride is ON and fireing and will also create some heat.

-> The 6 seconds are a security thing you can use for your advantage.

- Once the Vikhr hit the target (and destroyed it) you should switch [OFF] the laser to cool it down.

- Once you shot all 12 Vikhr your 1st series is done and you "should" cool down the laser for 30min.

- So return to base to rearm, drink some coffee or vodka and fly back to the target area.

 

 

--> If you laser every enemy only one time with your 12 Vikhr and cool down the laser after each battle you should be able to rearm up to five times!

But there is a other.... tricky way to use (or not use) the laser:

 

Once the beam-ride is active to guide the Vikhr it is not possible to activate the range-finder.

The beam-ride will be active for 6 seconds after impact of the Vikhr.

If you'r attacking a convoy and the next target is just some meters away from the last target you can use this for your advantage to conserve a range measuring.

 

Do it like this:

 

- Let the switch OFF and fly into the target area.

- Switch on the Shkval (camera, not laser) and find some targets.

- Move the Shkval on the target and lock it.

-> The new target is locked, the range is nearly the same, you conserved a range measuring and the laser was not crating heat.

 

- Lauch the next Vikhr without locking the target again.

Nah, was just putting my tongue firmly in cheek mate, because my shortish attention span doesn't always help in achieving a high in-game survival rate :D I'm perusing through the help PDFs at the moment, and they seem to contain good tips on how to actually finish the missions successfully :book: So thanks again man, top work all around!

Once upon a time I also started to learn the Shark and the difficulty level of my missions were riseing parallel to my experience and knowledge.

Thank you for your consideration Dragon, but it really was a case of jumping into the Batumi defence mission cold and dying of stupidity more than anything - and the rest just me flapping my lip after having cycled through the formidable enemy formation with F7! So I'm the real culprit here, not you :music_whistling:

 

So what I'm gonna do next is read trough the howtos and then try again I think :) Thanks again mate.

Ive been trying this and some times it works and some times all i get is 10 minutes or less. I use to be able to fly around for an hour or more with the laser on and didnt have this problem. Also i can not save my targets ni the computer unless the laser is on. Is there a trick around that. Or is there a mod that gives you more time.

 

Also I got my new computer together for a week now. Every thing maxed with no problems. I went today and got a new monitor. An asus ve247h. I was using a samsung 226bw. With the new monitor the game sometimes stalls for a split second. Do you know why this would be happening. Im running less resolution on the new monitor.

sounds like your hard drive. I was having this problem took me 3 weeks to find out it was a bad hard drive barely had it 3 months.

I have another Sata drive that I will install soon. I have a rapter 150. Just seems funny that the problem starts after it was installed. What im seeing the most with the game is.... you bring down the helmet mounted sight then you uncage the shkvel. When the monitor turns on the game stalls for a split second. That never happened until after the new monitor was installed. I tryed the old monitor and it does the same thing. What is the best resolution to set the game at. Am i to high.
