PacFlyer23 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 (edited) I have three Winwing DDIs and a main monitor. All have been working well, then in the last week things changed for some reason. Now if I open an app window from my desktop it shows up in the right DDI not the main display. This has happened when I start TrackIR. I can get my mouse cursor into this window and can sort of resize the TrackIR window, but cannot drag it back to the main display desktop window. Any help would be appreciated. scommander2 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 (edited) I have the dual monitors, and few cases were related the app landed on the unexpected monitor. So, let me try it: 1. power off all monitors except the main monitor. 2. launch the TrackIR app, and it should land on the main monitor no others since Windows knows the main monitor is on. 3. close the TrackIR app (I think that Windows+app maybe remember the last open monitor). 4. power on all monitors. 5. launch the TrackIR app again. PacFlyer23 Posted March 28 Author Posted March 28 (edited) I just tried your five steps. I also verified in Windows11 settings that only one (main) monitor is the display. I I launched TrackIR and its running but its app window is not showing up in the display. Solution PacFlyer23 Posted March 28 Author Solution Posted March 28 Okay, I got it. I turned off just the right DDI. Then launched TrackIR and it opened in the main display as normal. I then closed TrackIR, and turned back on the right DDI. With all monitors on, I launched TrackIR and it opened in the correct main display. 1 AMD R7 9800X3D @ 4.7 GHz ¦ 64GB DDR5 RAM ¦ 16GB Gigabyte RTX 5070 Ti ¦ Windows 11 Home ¦ 2TB NVME SSD ¦ Samsung 32” Odyssey Neo G7 4K 165 Hz Curved Monitor ¦ TM Warthog HOTAS ¦ TM Flight Rudder Pedals ¦ Winwing UFC-HUD, PTO2, 3x MFD1 ¦ TrackIR 5
MAXsenna Posted March 28 Posted March 28 @PacFlyer23 if this happens again sometime. Click on the TrackIR icon on the Taskbar, then press LAlt + Space and a little menu should show, and you can use the arrow keys to select Move, then press enter press one arrow key briefly, then the program will attach to your mouse pointer, and you can drag it anywhere you like. 1
PacFlyer23 Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 Thanks for the tip. 1 AMD R7 9800X3D @ 4.7 GHz ¦ 64GB DDR5 RAM ¦ 16GB Gigabyte RTX 5070 Ti ¦ Windows 11 Home ¦ 2TB NVME SSD ¦ Samsung 32” Odyssey Neo G7 4K 165 Hz Curved Monitor ¦ TM Warthog HOTAS ¦ TM Flight Rudder Pedals ¦ Winwing UFC-HUD, PTO2, 3x MFD1 ¦ TrackIR 5
Stadius Posted May 17 Posted May 17 (edited) MAX. This doesn't work for me because TrackIR does not have standard windows menu. No options to move, minimize or maximize. PacFlayer23. I've tried your steps, but still trackir starts in my left DDI. Very frustrating because, as you know, you cannot see the top of window on the DDI's. So you have to fumble around and try to grab the top bar of the window without being able to see it. Any other ideas anyone? Edited May 17 by Stadius
scommander2 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Will the mouse cursor show the small displays? Maybe not, right? scommander2 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 I tried with my two-screen environment and an app showed on my 2nd screen, then I powered off the 2nd monitor and the app showed back on the 1st screen with the following option off: Spoiler Dell XPS 9730, i9-13900H, DDR5 64GB, Discrete GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, 1+2TB M.2 SSD | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + TPR | TKIR5/TrackClipPro | Total Controls Multi-Function Button Box | Win 11 Pro
Czar66 Posted May 18 Posted May 18 In addition, you can move the active window between screens on a multi monitor setup with Win + LShift + Arrow keys . It is often handy. 1
MAXsenna Posted June 29 Posted June 29 MAX. This doesn't work for me because TrackIR does not have standard windows menu. No options to move, minimize or maximize. Apologies! Didn't see your reply until now. Did you test @Czar66's tip. That's excellent. I had forgotten about it. Else, you can use VoiceAttack to move windows if you have it. Cheers! 1
