I'm flying at night and I try to turn the brightness knob but the brightness is still way too high. Blown out, you cant see anything. Changing mode to NVGs you can see it is a little changed but still completely unusable.

The top left knob toggles between night and day mode, but then you can adjust further with the bottom left rocker switch. That way you can change it to match what you want. I've used this setup a little bit for NVG landings, brightness switch in red:

It's not necessarily that they are too bright or dim, it's that they are NOT all uniform. One is bright while the others are dim. Definitely not a "check procedures" issue either. It's definitely messed up. I noticed this too and it's been messed up since release.

The far right pilot MFD does not go into night mode. I wish I had described this better initially. It's definitely a bug and not a procedure issue. Been like this since the module released. Not just with night vision. It's too bright at night and cannot be dimmed so it washes everything else out, including night vision.

Do you export that display?

If so, that is the problem, exporting the display messes with the in cockpit display brightness. VERY LONG standing bug.

<profanity>, I do. I didn't realize that had an effect on it. I've noticed other display issues in other aircraft too. Thanks for the insight. Hope ED is able to look into it and find out why it's doing that.

Thanks!

Yes, it happens in ALL aircraft while exporting displays.

It seems when exporting, the cockpit display also gets an additional render on top of the original.
And like stacking astronomy photos on top of each other, this increases the display brightness.

The right-hand MFD on the pilot's side is exported as (‘RIGHT_MFCD’) by default.

To change this, take this lua and save it under:

‘E:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\GCBase\Cockpit\Scripts\MFD\indicator’.

The right MFD will then no longer be exported under ‘RIGHT_MFCD’ and you can adjust the brightness again. However, if you wish to export the MFD, I'm afraid I don't have a solution for you.

I had the same problem, so this is how I solved it.

MFD_init_pilot_out.lua
