Haven't seen this. Looks like something from that Civsim. Some undocumented feature not mentioned in the changelog?

ChrisG73 Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Have you got the Supercarrier module? It looks like one of the taxi-markers which tell you were to taxi to on the deck.

Is it in the direction of the Super Carrier? If yes, it sort of makes sense except one shouldn't see it at that distance. Better post a short track and post a bug report. Edit: Just had another look at the screenshots. It looks like it is placed on another ship. I don't believe it has anything to do with the compass rose. Ghostmaker Posted April 10 Author Posted April 10 (edited) Ill see if i can get some tine on this over the next few days, its behind the carrier with the number of 170, fron the photo of the fa18 which took off from an airfield further behind the carrier the number was alot smaller like its a marker or distanc for something Edited April 10 by Ghostmaker
Jel Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Marks the position and distance of your assigned marshal on the carrier deck. I noticed that flag often just stays visible after parking your plane and/or taking off again. Try switching the marker helpers off in special menu. 1 When in doubt - climb. Sorry for daft question but whats the assigned marshal on the deck carrier?
ChrisG73 Posted April 10 Posted April 10 The marshallers are the guys on the deck who point you to the direction of where you need to park. Basically after you’ve landed the guy in front will point you to the guy on the right, then that guy will point you to another guy until you’ve parked. The marshallers will have that purple symbol to show which one you need to interact with. 1
Ghostmaker Posted April 10 Author Posted April 10 ok so i went into the special tab in create mission, this is random that the purple icon is co far away, once saluted this moves to the closest deck guy to movements, how do i get rid of the marker above there head though? 1
Ghostmaker Posted April 10 Author Posted April 10 Can you get rid of the marker though so the deck crew pass you over to the next guy without the desination marker aboulve them?
MAXsenna Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Can you get rid of the marker though so the deck crew pass you over to the next guy without the desination marker aboulve them?Yes, like he wrote above. In the special settings for the Super Carrier. I don't remember if there is a toggle keybind, while I'm sure it was requested in the Wishlist. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1

Darcaem Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Isn't this a bug? I did not fly on SA for a long time until today and now I also see these marker, mine is about 60 miles south of FOB San Carlos (screenshot 1). I've check my mission (is an unfinished custom mission I was building, the marker didn't appear before, but most likely I never tested it after the supercarrier update) and there is nothing on that area. No carrier, other ships nor any unit (screenshot 3) I checked and the market always appears, no mather what client I chose. I first saw it when starting on a Harrier, so I though maybe it was that. So I have exited and launch a new mission but this time I spawn on a client Hercules (mod) and it also appears on the same location (screenshot 2). I was using several mods, Hercules, A4C, etc.; so I have just removed all mods and created a new mission and test it. The unit creating the problema is in fact the official carrier, the marker appears again when there is a supercarrier on the mission (screenshots 4 and 5). I'm also attaching the test mission only with a Harrier and a supercarrier (with mods removed), where the marker appears. Also, maybe it is totally a coincidence, but it does seem to appear on the position where the compass rose is originally. If you move the compass the marker does not move. It is also not linked to red, blue nor neutral bullseye, nor the actual location of the supercarrier, I tested it. test1.miz

However i sorted mine, if your taking off from the super carrier you will need to salute the ground crew and then the marker moves to the deck crew who will tell you where the go on the suppercarrier. If you want to get rid of this completely, go into the specials for the syper carrier on the dcs main page, and un tick the deck crew, or play about with it, i managed to remove it 1
Darcaem Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Ok, so it is a bug then. I'll copy this thread as a bug report. Thanks for the workaround! 1
