Blaine Stars Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Hi ED! I’d like to better understand a limitation I’ve been facing with the AH-64D in DCS. Why is the CPG unable to detect infantry on the ground using the sensors, even when they’re out in the open and at close range? Is this an intentional design choice, a limitation of the AI or sensor modeling, or something that might be improved in the future? Thanks!
Floyd1212 Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Do you have a track file you can share of this (not) happening? From my experience, George will spot infantry just fine with the TADS when close enough, but there is some distance (unknown to me) where he won't be able to spot them.

My CPG does! Not too sure of the range - possibly around 3 1/2 km - both in the open and in a treeline. (Edit Update - just flew a mission in the 4 Horsemen - CPG identified enemy infantry starting @3.6km). Edited April 13 by Leg2ion More info. Same for me, George can spot infantry just fine.....if I happen to tell him to look where some can be found. Still would be nice if he would occasionally find stuff on his own.
