jaapgrolleman Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Crystal Super reviews from HIP (with DCS): VR Flight Sim Guy Omniwhatever MRTV Voodoo 1 1
Peedee Posted April 11 Posted April 11 (edited) Not sure what to think after watching these reviews. Mura seems really bad after watching MRTV review. It´s even in a kind of a horizontal pattern, according to Sebastian at MRTV. Other reviews mention visible mura as well. For this amount of money I find that disappointing. Hard to see Mura I could tolerate, but it seems to be more than that. Chromatic aberration- my Pimax Crystal has a fair deal of it. But my Pimax Crystal Light not so much. Yeah, I have both I forget it when playing. But if it is more than my Crystal OG, then I am not so sure. Panzerlang Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Mura, puh. As a bike rider (and glasses for the TV), crud in my FOV is nothing new. I already accommodate limited FOV as "I'm wearing pilot goggles" and mura (if I even notice it, because I don't with the OG), that'll be "grubby glass". Sebastian makes a huge deal of it, but I think from other things he's pointed out that he might have peculiar eyes. 1

These panels are huge so we can get a huge FOV and great stereo overlap, with a great resolution and high brightness. Mura is one of the downsides. It's not as visible as e.g. the PSVR2 (On the MRTV channel it was said as 20% of that), but it's visible when looking at e.g. the sun. You could lower the brightness for it though. 1 1

I have a question before eventually ordering - are there different models of the 50ppd Qled Crystal Super? I can not order directly from your Chinese web shop, but can order from a Norwegian retailer. On their website there is no mention of the Crystal Super headset having eye tracking. Actuality on their site it says “manually adjustable IPD”. Do all Crystal Super have eye tracking? PC: I9 13900K, Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC, 32 GB RAM@6000Mhz. Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas. Thanks Are you working at Pimax? The web site I plan to order from actually announce it with manually adjustable IPD. I found that strange. I really need to make sure about the eye tracking because running 6240x6280 without eye tracking/quad views… I know about the 57 ppd later. I rather have the wider FOV anyway. So 50 will do just fine. Edited April 13 by Peedee PC: I9 13900K, Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC, 32 GB RAM@6000Mhz. Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas. Virpil Base for Joystick. TimberWolf Posted April 13 Posted April 13 The Super will (should) eventually have automatic IPD adjustment, but many of the reviews have mentioned that it is currently not working properly, and that they are still working to fix it. That is why it currently states manual IPD adjustment. Eye tracking, has been noted to be working well, at least in DCS. 1 Sim Rig: Intel 12700KF, MSI RTX4090, 32GB DDR4@3200, Quest 3 headset, TM Warthog HOTAS, MFG Crosswind pedals

I think I saw that some got wrong IPD on a recent VR YouTube event and had to manually adjust it. But I think it’s strange that a major selling point like Eye Tracking is *not* on the spec list on a web shop that is selling the headset. That is why I wonder if they are selling a different version too. PC: I9 13900K, Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC, 32 GB RAM@6000Mhz. Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas. Virpil Base for Joystick. With the PSVR2 there is a brightness slider can be set down to 0% and the image is still plenty bright. The slider, I believe is for HDR, which is not available when using the displayport adapter. That will decrease mura effect to the point where it is only noticable if I really look for it. Is there is a comparable capability for the Crystal Super? Edited April 20 by Stellatny45
