Viewing forward and Side

I've noticed that when viewing through the HUD of F18 not looking at instruments, I gets slow. But when I look across the left, right or behind the plane, everything is smooth.

I had quite a number of AI planes and thought it was that but after removing most of them, its still the same.

I know my GPU isn't the greatest, but never experienced this.

Update:

I think its the Syria map as I tested with Persian Gulf and hardly noticeable. Will stick with this until new GPU.

Syria is a much higher load map versus PG so not really surprising if you're on the edge GPU/CPU wise.
