Mangrove Jack Posted Sunday at 12:43 AM Posted Sunday at 12:43 AM Seeking some clarification. Just building a small mission on the Normandy map and was trying to get an AI Spit to take off from Hawkinge in the northerly direction. However, they always take off in the opposite direction. I have tried to change wind direction and speeds but nothing alters the takeoff direction of the AI. Is this just something that the AI will only ever take off in a given direction for an all strip or even a given strip, or can I be possibly doing something wrong? Pizzicato Posted Sunday at 12:59 AM Posted Sunday at 12:59 AM Wind direction definitely dictates takeoff direction for modern "runway-bound" aircraft in DCS. There are also some airbases where only one direction is permitted for takeoff (usually if the other end of the runway is obstructed by hills or mountains, e.g. Kerman in the Persian Gulf). It seems strange that these limitations would extend to open, unobstructed airfields like Hawkinge, though. Who knows with DCS, though. i7-7700K @ 4.9Ghz | 16Gb DDR4 @ 3200Mhz | MSI Z270 Gaming M7 | MSI GeForce GTX 1080ti Gaming X | Win 10 Home | Thrustmaster Warthog | MFG Crosswind pedals | Oculus Rift S
SUNTSAG Posted Sunday at 07:18 AM Posted Sunday at 07:18 AM I would suggest making a bug report for UGRA in the Normandy map section of the forums. I know it works for The Cannel Map (see attached .miz) therefore it must be an UGRA Normandy Map issue related to the taxi & takeoff routes for Hawkinge.
