Strannix Posted Thursday at 04:08 PM Posted Thursday at 04:08 PM Hi, I just find something strange today. When approaching M0.84 the roll rate is slowing down a lot and continue to accelerate will increase the problem. Is there any limitation link to the roll rate by the FCS?
Solution AndyJWest Posted Thursday at 04:45 PM Solution Posted Thursday at 04:45 PM Yup. Per the, ahem, 'manual', roll rate is reduced at high speeds to avoid exceeding structural limits. 1

Additionally, roll rate tends to reduce at high/transonic speeds in general, as control surfaces become less effective. This happens on jets without fly-by-wire too. On WWII prop planes, control surfaces can lock up almost completely at excessive speeds. 2
