Hello everyone, for some time now I have had a problem with images "freezing" when I use DCS with my Pimax 5K Super. I don't understand what happened, I've been using it for more than 3 years now and I've never had this type of problem, I've been using the same settings for a long time but as I said I can't use the game anymore because the image freezes and it can take several tens of seconds before the image on the viewer unlocks, it also happened to me that the game closed. Note that this problem does not occur with other games (Automobilista2, Il2 Forgotten Battles, Assetto Corsa, LM Unlimited) and everything works normally.
These are the specs of my system:
Operating System: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i5 14600KF 37°C
Raptor Lake 10nm Technology
RAM: 64.0GB Unknown @ 2992MHz (30-40-40-76)
Motherboard: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MAG B760 TOMAHAWK WIFI (MS-7D96) (U3E1) 41 °C
Graphics: LG HDR 4K (3840x2160@60Hz)
4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (MSI) 48 °C
Storage: 3726GB Seagate ST4000DM004-2CV104 (SATA) 30°C
1863GB Crucial CT2000P3PSSD8 (Unknown (SSD))
1863GB Crucial CT2000P3PSSD8 (Unknown (SSD))
Optical Drives: MAT<profanity>A DVD-RAM UJ890AS USB Device
Audio: NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)

If anyone has an idea what the problem might be.

Thanks from a (now hysterical) dcs pilot

What version of PimaxPlay are you using?  Do you use PimaxXR?, QVFR?, OpenXRToolkit? What abou your nvidia driver? Have you installed or update any software prior to the issue appearing? Do you have the original cable (HMD to PC) or have you replace it?  Is it well seated in the HMD or loose?  When DCS closes completely, is PimaxPlay still showing your HMD fully connected?

did this just start with the latest NVIDIA drivers? because it sure has for me, but mines opposite I can play DCS, but IL2 Battles freezs and Display goes out and some time I have to hard reboot.

all started with these new drivers 576.xx; I'm going to fall back to the 572.83. and see if that fixes it.

Quale versione di PimaxPlay stai utilizzando? Usi PimaxXR?, QVFR?, OpenXRToolkit?

To your question I answer: Pimax Play version 1.36.01.01, I was using this version even before this problem arose. I use both PimaxXR and OpenXR Toolkit, Nvidia Driver Ver. 576.28. I have the original cable well inserted, on the other hand I have not had any kind of problem with the other VR programs. I also thought it could be an overheating problem, but the temperatures of both the CPU and GPU are within 50 ° C. I hope I have answered your questions correctly.

Again, when DCS crashes completely, what is the status of the HMD in pimaxplay? Is it still connected and tracked?  Cable problem can show only in certain games and not all of them.  One of my cable was showing issues only in 90hz refresh rate and blacking out, another had interference and the display was showing white dots. I had to replace my cable three times and finally got my hands on a fiber optic cable that is far more reliable.  Pimax don't have them in stock but you can find some in Aliexpress for about 200$.  But before shelling hard earned money, as suggested by @71st_Mastiff, the latest nvidia driver could also be the issue.
