virgo47 Posted Saturday at 02:50 PM Posted Saturday at 02:50 PM (edited) Dear Kola users, what is your experience? Does Orbx regularly respond to bug reports? I was surprised that the Bugs & Problems link leads to "Suggestions for DCS: Kola Map by Orbx" on the external forum, which is annoying (another registration). And bugs are definitely not the same as suggestions - there should be some dedicated subforums for just bugs/problems. And the other subforum link is 404, which seems a bit amateurish - or at least disconnected from our DCS world. I wanted to report low FPS over a particular building model, but I don't see many responses in the bug reports there - or was I just unlucky in my search? I'm just trying, but it's not making the experience easier from the typical DCS bug reporting perspective. 1) Discord is another platform. 2) It's mixing DCS and MSFS content. 3) There is still no clear bug reporting channel - at least not for newcomers. Czar66 Posted Saturday at 10:19 PM Posted Saturday at 10:19 PM (edited) @virgo47 Orbx didn't make the map, nor any of their dev teams. The map was published under Orbx but whoever actually fixes bugs are the developer that did South Atlantic map as well. Perhaps trying to message/mention the developer is a better path than trying to contact Orbx itself. Imo, this kind of publishing makes things harder and is a bit misleading overall, but it was what the developer could do to make those maps into DCS. Edited Saturday at 10:19 PM by Czar66 1
drPhibes Posted Sunday at 11:25 AM Posted Sunday at 11:25 AM One of the map devs (Specter) did comment on the VORDME bug post on the orbx site a few weeks ago, so they do seem to look at the bug reports (at least occationally). IMHO, having a bugs & problems section here instead would have been preferable, both with regards to ease of access and active user base. 1
grebogreyblade Posted Sunday at 04:26 PM Posted Sunday at 04:26 PM If you're able to post it in the DCS section support channel on the Orbx Community discord with a screenshot and in-game coords I can pass it on to the team to fix it. If you don't want to post there, you can post it in this thread. Either way is fine for me
RVT2403 Posted Sunday at 05:02 PM Posted Sunday at 05:02 PM It's the Orbx way of doing things, immune to advice. 1 -

Either way is fine for me Thanks, I encountered it over this Rovaniemi building: These are the coordinates: This seems to be a unique Rovaniemi building. Of course, I'm not 100% sure it's that one causing the FPS drop, but it seems the most probably culprit. grebogreyblade Posted Sunday at 07:51 PM Posted Sunday at 07:51 PM (edited) We updated the model with the April patch, are you still getting the spikes now? When we were testing it after adjusting we were no longer seeing unstable frame spikes from it like we had before the adjustment. rov_model_test.mp4 Edited Sunday at 07:55 PM by grebogreyblade 1
grebogreyblade Posted Sunday at 07:59 PM Posted Sunday at 07:59 PM (edited) It was reported on our community discord back in march so we made the adjustments. (this video was the part of the bug report to us) Frametime (1).mp4 Edited Sunday at 08:20 PM by grebogreyblade
virgo47 Posted Sunday at 08:22 PM Author Posted Sunday at 08:22 PM (edited) This is my experience with the latest patch. I'll be away from the game for a few days but later I can add more info such as track, configuration, etc. Oh, and thanks for coming back to me. grebogreyblade Posted Sunday at 08:30 PM Posted Sunday at 08:30 PM No problem, thanks for the report! We'll take another look at this model to see if there is anything else in there that might be causing additional problems. Any extra data you can provide will help us nail down the issue faster. 1
