StingArray Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Hello - of late, I no longer receive any indication of when GPS guided munitions are to be released when on AUTO. The HUD does not currently provide any indication of when IN RANGE. It may be that the symbology has been changed (and I am looking in the wrong place for the cures). However, I suspect that this might actually be the product of a bug. Are others experiencing this? If so, is there a solution at hand? Thanks. S
BigBorner Posted May 12 Posted May 12 I might be mistaken, but there never was a hud cue. The line on the HSD turns from dotted to solid and that’s about it.
Sting_Array Posted May 13 Posted May 13 What you describe is correct for munitions like the GB6. However, I don't recall seeing a similar cue on the HSD for other GPS guided ordnance like JDAMs (or their equivalent). If those cues were once present, they are not working in the current patch.

Only thing i can remember having release cues in HUD is the BRM 90 Laser guided rocket. LS-6 100 has a tone, the other LS-es behaved like GB-6. And i cant find any reference to a HUD Cue in Chucks Guide. But maybe someone else has a better memory then I have.
whisky.actual Posted May 13 Posted May 13 I've checked several tutorials and I came to the same conclusion; they did not exist the only indication is via the HSD

You get a dotted white line when you're out of range, and a solid line when you're in range. If you specify an angle to come in at, you get a pie wedge, that is dotted when you're outside it, and solid when you're in it. Drop it when the white line is solid and you might hit your target, drop closer to the target if you want it to come in at a steeper angle. Don't drop in the small white circle, as it is too close. Sometimes it's ok to drop it after you flew over the target if you still have a solid line, and enough altitude for it to do a 180. Edited May 14 by Napillo
StingArray Posted May 16 Author Posted May 16 Thanks for the helpful responses. My recollection was clearly faulty. Will review cues available on HSD.
