Morat Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Hi, I'm considering getting into FFB for the Tomcat. I don't usually pull the wings off, but when I do I have a human RIO and it gets a bit frustrating. Does the FFB on the F14 help people know when the aero loads are high and help you to feel the jet a bit better? If it's just rumbles for weapon launch and gear moving I won't bother. thanks!
JupiterJoe Posted May 22 Posted May 22 (edited) FFB does let you know when aero loads are high and so much more. Once you've tried it you won't ever want to go back. I have a Microsoft Sidewinder FFB2 stick, which is the same stick the FFB model was developed on for the F-14. It's a 20+ year-old stick now, so might be tough to find one that's not worn out, but it would be one of the cheaper options for you try out before committing to something more expensive, like a Moza. I think FFB sticks are in development by all the major companies now, so we'll be spoilt for choice soon and the competition will help bring price down. ...Just don't engage ACLS. It doesn't currently work with FFB.
