Since I received the Crystal Super on 30-04-2025 I had very little time to use the headset due to personal circumstances. So, I cannot give any findings on how it looks and works in DCS.

 But so far:

- despite the remark by Jaap in the latest video, I have not received the DMAS headphones (yet?).

- the auto IPD has become useless since a number of Pimax Play releases ago. Why not give us an option like in the Valve Index where you could set the IPD with the same screen that Pimax Play also uses.

- the room settings should work without the use of the controllers, but it doesn't. When I select the 'sitting' position the only setting to adjust should be the height. But that does not change with the volume button.

- why is there the need for a 360-degree scan when you select the sitting position?

- you can exit the room setting only with the B key from the controller (that isn't used).

- the audio setting works differently from the OG Crystal. When you change the audio setting in the Pimax Play settings it will set the Pimax headphone as default device but it will not reset it back to the systems default device when Pimax Play is exited. And that is what it should do and always did in the OG Crystal.

- why does the volume button not do what the name says? Why do you need to enter a menu where you select the volume with a pointer from a controller, in this case the volume button (as I do not use the controllers).

I entered two tickets, one for the room settings and one for the audio. both on 10-05-2025. Both answers I received today, 27-05-2025 were extremely disappointing as they did not answer the questions but only gave generic answers.

Btw, has anybody a link for me to a Pimax website where I can find all the Pimax Play releases we had so far with the release notes for these versions? Because I cannot find it which makes it impossible to see if I missed a release note about a change or improvement of the functionality.

Agreed. How come it never remember my room setting? It is out of whack everytime I start the set.
I am stationary sitting down. The new calibration procedure seem to scan the room, but for what?

Next time I use it, the centre is to my right, because I leave it to my left after use.
And sometimes I find myself jumping betweeen cockpit, and three meters above. Back and forth.
The worst experience is the "swim" phenomenon, where the cockpit gets to be stationary in front of nose, but with a little lag.

-But I've got a tip for you regarding sound; Turn off the "Pimax as default" and set sound prefs in DCS menu.
-Although DCS does not remember sound preferences, you can set radios to Pimax, and world sounds to PC-speakers. They should be default.

If you only use the headset for DCS (or sims), I would just disable Chaperone in the last tab of the Pimax Play settings. Roomscale will be fixed but I don't like the safety area anyway. I just recenter the HMD in-game.

DMAS will be shipped asap. The information I initially received is that everyone should have already received it, but apparently that was not correct for 100% of the shipped orders. You'll also get the new ice silk foam + new face interface with stronger magnets.

The developers are currently working on optimizing the auto-IPD feature. This improvement is expected to be included in the next patch, which is undergoing debugging and testing.

This is because the scanning feature enables the camera to capture the surroundings and generate the chaperone boundaries.

This feature was introduced in an earlier patch, implementing a no-controller logic for the headset. When controllers are not paired, the volume button is reassigned to bring up the overlay. However, some users have expressed a preference for a checkbox option to enable or disable this feature. I’ve forwarded this feedback to the developers for consideration.

Have you tried disabling the “Headset as default audio output” option in the General tab?

The engineers are optimizing the algorithm and revising the saved-data logic to address the issue of room setup data not being saved or being off after every boot-up. This update is likely to be included in the next patch.
