Owl Posted Thursday at 07:18 PM Posted Thursday at 07:18 PM (edited) In some of the missions in the Outpost campaign, I feel the Apache is close to impossible to fly. It feels like the Apache is much too heavy. It is difficult to even take off. You have to use about 85% power before the wheels is in the air. I know there is problems with yaw at the moment, but this is impossible to make a soft sweet take off. When flying, I all the time have to fight to fly her, and it takes to much of concentration. I am under MTW, but it feels like it is much over it. I have tried some instant action missions, loaded the Apache to max MTW, and it is not behaviour like it does in Outpost Campaign. So it can´t just be because i´m that heavy. Even when sitting in front seat, George can’t hover the Apache. When trying to hover, the Apache slowly goes to the ground. George have to fly 40 or more to keep the height. Is it only me, does I do anything wrong, or? I can´t see anything in the forum about it. Best regards Henrik Edited Thursday at 07:29 PM by Owl
Floyd1212 Posted Thursday at 07:36 PM Posted Thursday at 07:36 PM I'm not familiar with the campaign, but what is your altitude and temperature at the airfield?

I don’t know, but it is in Syria, so I’m sure it is hot. But any way, the chopper still behavior strange, when I’m Winchester. I mean, if it can’t be flown with empty pylons, there must be something wrong.
Floyd1212 Posted Thursday at 09:04 PM Posted Thursday at 09:04 PM Next time you go to fly one of those missions, grab a screenshot of the PERF page before you lift, and then post it here.

The first picture is before takeoff. The second picture is George trying to hover. When takeoff, I have to use almost full rudder. The Apache is yawing so much. I now there is a bug at the moment, but It is not that much in other missions outside the Outpost campaign.
UncleStains Posted Friday at 04:41 PM Posted Friday at 04:41 PM Your PERF page shows 85% torque is required for IGE hover, which agrees with your observation that you need around 85% to take off. It also shows that you need 107% for OGE hover, meaning that you are too heavy to hover OGE. There are performance limits that come into play long before you reach MTOW. 1

I then think it is the yaw problems at the Apache modul, who makes the problems. It is almost impossible to fly at some of the missions in Outpost Campaign. Some times full rudder isn't enough to fly strait a head. Some time you have to fight more with the chopper than the enemy.

I don't think anyone has been complaining about that type of issue. Maybe some sort of hardware issue? Where are you taking off from in those screenshots?
