AKA_Clutter Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 (edited) All, I am trying to create a mission with NAV points in addition to way points. I have tried to save these but have been unsuccessful up to this point. Below is the basic steps that I have done. 1) start mission up in the Mission Editor (ME) 2) Use the Prepare Mission feature. 3) enter the helo 4) set PV-800 to edit mode 5) Press the NAV (OT) button 6) enter the LAT/LON coordinates for the different NAV points. 7) put PVI-800 back in Operate mode 8 ) Take ABRIS to the MENU\CTRL\DTB area 9) Press SAVE button 10) go to the Additional Data line 11) Press SAVE Go out and fly. At this point the NAV points are in the PVI-800 and show up on the ABRIS. 12) Close mission and return to ME 13) Save mission in ME 14) Exit ME 15) Restart ME, load the mission and try the NAV points. They are not loaded. HELP!! Can some one tell me what I'm doing wrong. I say that I've read the manual, but obviously I didn't read it correctly. Weta43 Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 (edited) I'm not sure points entered via the PV-800 persist across mission saves (but I've been wrong before :-), but via the Abris they do - Although you can save route plans into the ABRIS system RAM through the PLAN sub-mode pages, you can also save a route plan into the ABRIS permanent database (i.e. your hard drive). If you do so, you will have the ability to load it the next time you fly the same mission. To do so: 1. Select the MENU operating mode and press the CTRL FSK button. 2. Press the SETUP FSK button. This will display a pop-up menu. Using the Δ-Δ FSK buttons or cursor manipulator control, select the DTB (DATABASE) option and press the SETUP FSK button again. 3. Press the SAVE FSK button and this will box NAVIGATION DATA in the ONBOARD STORAGE section. 4. Press the SAVE FSK button again and this will save the route plan in the navigation database. 5. Move the cursor to ROUTES and press the SAVE FSK button. This will save all the flight plan data. 6. Finally, once everything is saved, press the MENU FSK button to go back to MENU operating page. Feuerfalke Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 That's what I thought, too. You can save mission-plans and your info from the ABRIS to your HDD and reload it the next time you load the same mission. But I don't think the PV-800 saves it's data in a form that you can access it after restarting the mission. AKA_Clutter Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 All, Problem solved! Thanks to Mbot! My problem was that I was trying to do the correct think, and looking in all the wrong places. Since the button on the PVI-800 is labeled as NAV Targets, I had assumed that these were NAV points. What I was missing, and Mbot cleared up was that these are actually target points, assoicated with targets for the helo. These are entered in the ME when you assign targes to your helo. If you press the NAV Target butoon on the BP, and then a corresponding number, the coordinates will show, the HSI carrot will point in the heading to fly to that point, and it shows up on the ABRIS as a blue box. Thanks to all for helping. ---------------- AKA_Clutter Win 10 Pro, Intel i7 12700k @4.6 GHz, EVGA RTX 3080 FTW, Ultra 64 GB G.Skill DDR4 3600 RAM, Acer 27" flat screen, HP Reverb G2, TM Warthog HOTAS with Virpil warBRD base, MFG Rudder Pedals, Virpil TCS Rotor Base with AH-64Dcollective, TrackIR 5 Pro w/Vector Expansion, PointCTRL.
