Cunctator Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Mostly the same airicraft as our -1D, but with 4 M2 20 mm cannons installed in the wings instead of the six 0.5 Brownings. Hopefully a quite simple modification of our Corsair. 1

Id love to have the option One could 'Frankenstein' the weapons.lua file, to replace the 6x0.50's w/ 4x20 mm's already in the program. Did similar to the 30 mm Bf-109K, to convert it to a 20 mm 'G-6' mdl. Only drawback is that all the F4U's would be of that stripe as long as the mod .lua file was installed. Not a problem for the Bf-109. Would be sweet. USS Shangri-La (CV-38) (CVG-85) (VF-85)* (VBF-85)* Fit right in for the new 'TG 58.4.3 - Okinawa Support (08APR - 12MAY45)' mission. However, from extensive CFS2 experience, as well as real world data, the 6x0.50 is the superior dogfighter configuration. Bowie Edited November 16 by Bowie 2

Bowie the 20mm struggled early on due to jamming and icing issues, once they got gun heat and solved the jamming, the 20mm and .50's performed very closely, but obviously, lots of pilots prefered the .50s for multiple reasons

It became more important with the jet era because you didn't have the time on target.
