percivaldanvers Posted Saturday at 07:26 PM Posted Saturday at 07:26 PM Hi all, I'm still in the process of learning the corsair and am having a blast with it! I am having the issue that my engine keeps dying as I'm flying back from my missions and I'm trying to figure out why. I took screenshots of my dashboard at the time of the last engine death. I notice the cyl temp is very high - what should I be doing in this situation? Is that a cowl flap thing? I had tried lowering my rpm and manifold pressure based on this chart in the manual but I'm a little confused on other points of engine management whydidmyenginedie.trk
skywalker22 Posted Saturday at 07:48 PM Posted Saturday at 07:48 PM Did you open the cowl flaps? Check HERE how you need to cool the engine. You are overheating the engine. Keep an eye on cylinder head temperature gauge! Your gauge is over 300 degC! 1
Rougaroux Posted Saturday at 07:52 PM Posted Saturday at 07:52 PM Yeah your cyl head temp gauge is pegged. Also keep an eye on fuel: your main tank runs dry at about 45 gallons and you'll need to switch it back to the center reserve. 1
Firebugs Posted Saturday at 08:43 PM Posted Saturday at 08:43 PM The cowl flaps get pushed shut in fast dives. Have to open them back up once you level off and slow back down. 1

I did a lot of hard dives in this particular mission and didn't know you had to manually reopen the cow flaps
