ex81 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Folks, thr corsair is a challenge, that is true. And turning on the ground is far away from being easy. particularly when you want it to turn 180 . You need a whole lot of power to make it move and turn. I fly without pedals and have left and right brake bind to my keyboard. That makes it even harder to do. But at least it is doable and take off and landing work as expected. IT is early access and we have to be patient even if we don`t like it. What makes me struggle, is the engine killing in the middle of a flight. Some of you may find it good because of reality. I don`t. This Enumeration could go on and on. To make it a satisfactory modul, there is a whole lot of work to do. After all: I flight it daily. What goes up, must come down ! GeoS72 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago @ex81, Thanks for posting your remarks. Trying to steer on the ground via keyboard must be very challenging in most war birds; it must be impossible to steer in the Corsair. I'm trying to read through the fluff. To be blunt: Do you have problems turning the Corsair on the ground or not? Is the intent of your post to record the same problem or is it to offer words of encouragement?
OmasRachE Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) I have other warbirds too and taxi on the ground in the mustang is my second nature. But after the last patch in the corsair it is just impossible to make a turn. As long as I am crossing the wind, I can turn in the wind relativly easy, but turning out of the wind in any direction does not work, regardless of how much throttle I give. Doing it with some speed only leads to running out of taxyway faster. No matter if I hit the brakes full or just a little bit, if I give full rudder or none at all, there is no technique aplyable. Don´t get me wrong, I like challenging modules and managing the engine is one of the things I like about warbirds. I do accept that the module is early access but that means, that I have to give feedback and tell what is not working. At least that nellis mission is not playable. Give it a try @ex81! Another thougt about early access is, that this in DCS usualy means that some features are missing and sometimes a buck makes its way into the update but this one was a very poor one. Leaving a plane unflyable for at least a mentionable number of people is quite a problem and I would like to see M3 pushing the pace to get this fixed. Edited 5 hours ago by OmasRachE 2
Etask Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Agree with the above…full rudder, full differential braking, lots of power, almost impossible to taxi it. edit: mission has wind. Definitely a bug. Edited 3 hours ago by Etask 1

Go to Instant Action -> Nellis -> Cold Start. Start up the Corsair, then taxi a full 360 degree circle. Then tell us about it. VFA-41 Black Aces www.vfa-41.com
