Whiskey1968 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Hello. I have had my quest 3 for almost a year now and never had any issues. A few days ago, the meta app on my pc said an update was available so I initiated the update and never had any problems with any previous updates. It got stuck in an update loop, it would never finish installing the update so I followed the meta instructions and initiated what they called a side load through the quest 3 boot screen. When I did that nothing happened, the headset would not turn off so I had to do a factory reset to get it to shut off. I got it up and running again and going through the process of tweaking this ....... thing, back to once it was. My issue, I can not seem to resolve, as it comes and goes, is this: I load into a server, all is fine, I load into an aircraft and the movement is jittery when I turn my head, like its skipping. So I release my a/c and go into another and same thing...I figure it will prob smooth out, so I start my engine and when I look at the prop spinning (F4U) it looks pixelated, but not small or large pixels, but bigger than you would expect if that makes sense. And I must clarify, through all the tweaking and respawning, the pixelated prop thing would not happen until I would release that a/c and re-enter the same one. I tried MSAA, DLSS with DLAA, FSR, etc...rebooted both my pc and headset...prob still returns. Any help would be appreciated. i5 13600k (liquid cooled) Asus rtx 4080 super Asus prime z690m 96g ddr4
unlikely_spider Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Video card drivers up to date? Have you tried repairing the Meta Quest Windows app by downloading and running the installer again? Modules: Wright Flyer, Spruce Goose, Voyager 1
Whiskey1968 Posted June 29 Author Posted June 29 (edited) I will give that a try...thanks. Been beating my head against a wall and to frustrated to see the trees for the forest. Edit: Yes, my drivers are up to date. Thanks in advance if this works lol. Edited June 29 by Whiskey1968
Whiskey1968 Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 Not sure what's going on, but it seems to be getting worse than just skipping. I had a good session yesterday lasting about 2 hrs. Today, I can't get a 30 min flight in before i get the skipping motion and then a massive FPS drop that forces me to take my headset off and force close DCS. Starting the process of lowering every single setting I can find and the brutal task of tweaking each one back to see if I can nail this issue down.

What speeds do you get with the cable when train in the Meta software? Have you tried either a different cable and/or a different USB port (assuming you're using link)? Edit - how about a slow DCS repair and deleting metashaders? Edited July 4 by unlikely_spider Modules: Wright Flyer, Spruce Goose, Voyager 1
unlikely_spider Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Maybe also check in the Services in Windows to see how many Meta/Quest processes are running when this happens. I noticed they don't like to close when exiting the Meta app unfortunately. I'm wondering if they keep stacking for you for some reason. Modules: Wright Flyer, Spruce Goose, Voyager 1

I done a fresh reinstall of DCS 2 days ago and I got that horizontal line again. But I believe it may have to do with the DCS window going out of focus when ever I need to connect SRS to a server...and if I change servers it prompts me to join again. My cable passes the set up phase and I get the green check mark, other than that I could not say what speed I get. The cable is from Meta/Oculus so it should work fine...always did and it doesn't see and heavy bending. I have the cable secured with clips to keep it off the floor but enough slack so I can fly comfortably. Edit:I am installing a Crucial P3 Plus 4tb ssd Gen4 either Monday or Tuesday. Currently its installed on a Samsung 980 1tb...not enough room for all my modules lol. Edited July 7 by Whiskey1968
