Ramstein Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 ATI Radeon Video Card Users Only Questions.. Which Radeon Catalyst drivers work best for you? I am finding out with my Sapphire Radeon HD3870 PCI-e 512MB video card, the ATI Catalyst 9.7 suck bad with artifacts. So I would like to know what other versions others found to be the best. thanx.. Ramstein Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 I have tried 9.1 Cats, and stil have some artifact problems... not as bad as 9.7. With my Radeon 2900 I didn 't have as many driver problems.. this Sapphire Radeon HD3870 is a pain.. Ramstein Posted August 12, 2009 Author Posted August 12, 2009 I found the best drivers, just now, Catalyst 8.11 looks like I can fly both IL-2 and Black Shark with this version of ATI Radeon drivers! I think I am all ready to fly and enjoy it! :music_whistling: with all the other ones I tried either IL-2 or BS would have bad graphic problems... it has taken several days of testing to find a solution.. ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
Ramstein Posted August 16, 2009 Author Posted August 16, 2009 The Pipeline in the motherboard Bios turned off seems top have helped.. I did some tests and so far so good. At this time I have only tried this with my Catalyst 9.2 drivers. It's unbelieveable that an AtI video card user has to go through this amount of work to get a video card to perform properly. I really, really appreciate those that have helped me work on this problem. I suspect that this model of video card (Sapphire HD3870 PCI-e) just does not play nice with the Asrock 4CoreDaul Motherboard. Could be the motherboards fault too, just not sure. http://rage3d.com/board/forumdisplay.php?f=45 lots of info and help here. It turns out lots of people had problems with the ATI 3870 and 4x series video card and the Asrock motherboard model I have.. JG14_Smil Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 good read. I wish they touched on the "force maximum performance clocks", but I guess that release version was not out yet.
