DanKurt Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I can data link target points fine but I am sure I am not alone here when my wingman decides its best to close into the target way too close and ends up a smoking ash tray after taking out a minute portion of my assigned targets. Now I have tried to set ingress points without much success, so please tell me where I am going wrong. IE I set ingress point: slave shkval to 5km outside of proposed targets and Laser that point. Hit "ingress point" symbol and "send/mem". Reset target system. Hit "Ingress"+"D/L to all" buttons. Symbol flashes and button go "on" and them "off" to confirm data linked. Go into menu for wingman commands and F1 (flight), F3(goto), F3 (designated target). Response is usually unable or negative. Does this dude not know there is a war on??? Where an I going wrong.
Panzertard Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Hit "Ingress"+"D/L to all" buttons. .. Where an I going wrong. Error of the order in the manual I suspect? I havent verified if it's an erro in the manual yet. "D/L to All" then "targettype" then "Send/mem". I would suspect this procedure is the same when sending ingress points. Not 100% though. 1 The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
Acedy Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Ingress points cannot be used alone, only in conjunction with normal target points, otherwise a wingman ignores the IP. You have to send the IP first and then the target point. When you then order your wingman to proceed to the data-linked point he will first fly to the IP and then turn to the target.
