After installing the patch I am no longer able to connect to a server in multiplayer. When I click on "client" I don't see a single server listed. When I try to connect with a friend (I acting as the server) he cannot connect. Am I missing something? I connected to multiplayer numerous times in the past with no problems. I've searched the forums but doesn't look like anybody else is having the same problem which leads me to believe it's operator error (somehow) :music_whistling:. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm thinking of uninstalling and doing a clean install but thought I'd ask around first.

Tks.

Understood. But there are 1.0.1 dedi servers running now, isn't there? I should see at least one server on the list, I'm thinking.

Jrod, have you selected 'internet' instead of 'LAN' for the connection?

Yes, I tried both LAN and Internet settings. Haven't had any problems in the past. If there's no other suggestions I'll just try reinstalling from scratch after work and see if that fixes anything. Tks again.

Alright - there should be at least one or two servers up running 1.0.1 (you won't even see 1.00 servers since you can't connect to them anyway), so I suspect this may well be some form of firewall or router issue as well, but hey, you never know.

Keep us posted.

1. Maybe for some odd reason the DCS didn register properly in your local firewall (Windows?). Maybe you need to add DCS.exe there again?

Control Panel -> Firewall.

2. Perhaps something changed on one of your firewalls (local on on router / dmz) - check that TCP+UDP 10308 (for playing and hosting) and 10307 (for hosting) are open and working.

3. Maybe for some odd reason IPv6 gets in the way (Vista / Win7) and messes with your connection / causing issues.

It can be disabled: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/09/09/disable-and-turn-off-ipv6-support-in-vista/

4. Bonushint: Maybe tell us a bit more about your system, internet connection etc - maybe we can come up with some other fun tasks for you to perform. :)

5. Click the silly signature and you should see one server that allows you to connect and test with 1.0.1 ;)
