Air to Air Refueling - Transfer comeplete with 50% fuel?

Today I was training AAR with this wonderful mission pack ( https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/de/files/3338016/ ). My issue is, that I always receive the message from the tanker "Transfer complete. Disconnect." after about 20-30 seconds of refueling but at this moment my tanks are only half full.

What am I doing wrong? How can I refuel completely?

Did you disconnect right before he calls transfer complete? I recall a bug where attempting to reconnect before cycling the fuel door causes the tanker to say transfer complete.

In all my attempts to refuel I had to reconnect once, yes. Might this be the issue then?

Just give it a go again but making sure to cycle the fuel door if he says transfer complete and calling back in.

You need to make sure the fuel door is cycled in and out before the aircraft is able to receive fuel (you should note that if the ready light isn't illuminated, the aircraft can't receive fuel).

What the others said is correct. Unfortunately, the in-game experience with what the tanker tells you is misleading.

After an accidental disconnect the tanker is not allowed to connect to you before you cycled your door (restarts the AAR system). This is mandatory to do in The F-4 (IRL as well, ofc) before it can receive fuel again.

The tanker in DCS doesnt yet understand this special situation and will gladly put the boom in again - just to immediately receive a message from our code that he must not do this. The tankers reaction to that code-wise currently seems to be to disconnect and conclude you are fully refueled and happy. ED is aware and looking for a solution to improve the user experience.
