sleighzy Posted yesterday at 10:15 AM Posted yesterday at 10:15 AM Attach your DCS log file after one of these crashes occurs, don’t restart the game before getting the log. Also run the Windows DxDiag tool, save the report, and attach here as well. AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2

Czar Posted yesterday at 01:20 PM Posted yesterday at 01:20 PM Rename your 'DCS' folder in 'Saved Games' to something other than "DCS" and see if you can reproduce the crash. You can launch DCS once and it will regenerate a new 'DCS' folder in 'Saved Games'. Exit DCS, copy and paste your old bindings into the new folder and try to fly as you wanted. Will need a quick reset of your graphics settings, but at least its faster than re binding everything for your Hotas. If it is fixed, it is something inside that 'DCS' folder such as mods or scripts. Realized your pagefile was enough through DxDiag. Make sure you've set a good amount of 20+gb on a fast drive. I don't know if DxDiag calculations are exact on pagefile sizes. 1

sleighzy Posted yesterday at 08:29 PM Posted yesterday at 08:29 PM Your DxDiag report file showed the below: Kernel Events The following kernel-events have been detected: VIDEO_DXGKRNL_BLACK_SCREEN_LIVEDUMP,VIDEO_MINIPORT_BLACK_SCREEN_LIVEDUMP Remove any overclocking (including XMP). Run SFC and DISM to check your Windows., Check for any updates of your BIOS or chipset drivers. For the SFC and DISM commands referenced above open a command prompt as administrator and run the below two commands separately, restart your PC afterwards: dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth sfc /scannow Your DxDiag report contains a mix of LiveKernelEvent errors with the codes 1a8 and 1b8, further reference here on these: https://windowsreport.com/hardware-error-1a8-1b8/ Will need the DCS log file to see if anything else shows up. 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2

sleighzy Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The DCS log file shows that there is an OpenXR runtime issue and the session was lost. Don't know at this stage if this was a side-effect of something else in the game triggering this. This is possibly why VR freezes but you continue to hear sound. Does the game continue to play on your monitor mirror as well? 2025-08-26 19:22:34.935 ERROR VISUALIZER (Main): OpenXR xrWaitFrame failed with error: XR_ERROR_RUNTIME_FAILURE 2025-08-26 19:22:34.935 WARNING WORLD (Main): ModelTimeQuantizer: ANTIFREEZE ENABLED 2025-08-26 19:24:11.133 ERROR VISUALIZER (7728): xrEndFrame failed with error: XR_ERROR_SESSION_LOST 2025-08-26 19:24:11.134 ERROR VISUALIZER (7728): xrBeginFrame 12339.069162 failed with error: XR_ERROR_VALIDATION_FAILURE 2025-08-26 19:24:11.139 INFO VISUALIZER (Main): [15:24:11.568][Info ] OpenXR: XrEventDataSessionStateChanged: state XR_SESSION_STATE_FOCUSED->XR_SESSION_STATE_LOSS_PENDING session=3 time=12465287957300 2025-08-26 19:24:11.139 INFO VISUALIZER (Main): OpenXR: request restart 2025-08-26 19:24:11.139 INFO VISUALIZER (Main): OpenXR: request exit 2025-08-26 19:24:11.139 WARNING WORLD (Main): ModelTimeQuantizer: ANTIFREEZE ENABLED 2025-08-26 19:24:11.140 ERROR VISUALIZER (7728): xrBeginFrame 12339.069162 failed with error: XR_ERROR_CALL_ORDER_INVALID 2025-08-26 19:24:11.142 INFO Dispatcher (Main): Stop 2025-08-26 19:24:11.145 ERROR VISUALIZER (7728): xrBeginFrame 12339.069162 failed with error: XR_ERROR_CALL_ORDER_INVALID 2025-08-26 19:24:12.153 WARNING LOG (19056): 1 duplicate message(s) skipped. 2025-08-26 19:24:12.153 WARNING SCENE (7728): Scene was removed with 2 alive objects 2025-08-26 19:24:12.153 WARNING SCENE (7728): Scene was removed with 14 alive lights 2025-08-26 19:24:12.158 ERROR VISUALIZER (7728): xrBeginFrame 12339.069162 failed with error: XR_ERROR_CALL_ORDER_INVALID 2025-08-26 19:24:12.586 WARNING LOG (19056): 1 duplicate message(s) skipped. 2025-08-26 19:24:12.586 INFO TERRAIN (Main): lSystem::CleanScenes() 2025-08-26 19:24:12.586 INFO WORLDGENERAL (Main): TerrainUtility:: updated in parallel: 8791, updated in the main thread: 0 2025-08-26 19:24:12.605 INFO VISUALIZER (7728): Stopped collection of statistic. 2025-08-26 19:02:15.000 ERROR_ONCE (): 2025-08-26 19:24:13.045 INFO VISUALIZER (7728): DCSSceneRenderer initialized 2025-08-26 19:24:13.177 INFO EDCORE (Main): Created boot pool: n:24 2025-08-26 19:24:13.177 INFO WORLDGENERAL (Main): wDetectorWorker:: updated in parallel: 0, updated in the main thread: 0 2025-08-26 19:24:13.249 INFO EDCORE (Main): (dDispatcher)enterToState_:3 2025-08-26 19:24:15.035 ERROR VISUALIZER (Main): OpenXR xrWaitFrame failed with error: XR_ERROR_SESSION_LOST 2025-08-26 19:24:15.054 INFO EDCORE (Main): (dDispatcher)enterToState_:5 2025-08-26 19:24:15.054 ERROR VISUALIZER (Main): OpenXR xrWaitFrame failed with error: XR_ERROR_SESSION_LOST 2025-08-26 19:24:15.056 ERROR VISUALIZER (7728): xrBeginFrame 12339.069162 failed with error: XR_ERROR_CALL_ORDER_INVALID 2025-08-26 19:24:15.058 ERROR VISUALIZER (Main): OpenXR xrWaitFrame failed with error: XR_ERROR_SESSION_LOST 2025-08-26 19:24:15.062 ERROR VISUALIZER (7728): xrBeginFrame 12339.069162 failed with error: XR_ERROR_CALL_ORDER_INVALID 2025-08-26 19:24:15.064 INFO APP (Main): application shutdown 2025-08-26 19:24:15.067 ERROR VISUALIZER (7728): xrBeginFrame 12339.069162 failed with error: XR_ERROR_CALL_ORDER_INVALID Do you get this CTD issue in a basic single player instant mission?
