Wolf1964 Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Any chance of a map of the Mach Loop, LFA7, Wales, UK in please? It's one of the most photographed Low Flying Areas in the UK and I feel it would be very popular, as we have gotten a large range of aircraft coming through over the years - fixed wing and rotary. The Mach Loop is a series of Welsh valleys used for low-level military training flights, located between Dolgellau and Machynlleth, from which it gets its name. Part of Low Flying Area 7 (LFA7), it offers NATO forces, including the RAF, a challenging environment to practice flyinnullg as low as 250 feet (76 meters). You would only need 1 airfield in there: RAF Valley. It takes a Eurofighter approximately 6 minutes to get around the loop. Regards Wolf 2
G.J.S Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Bit of a small area with not a lot to offer really though isn’t it? The entire UK would be a lot better, but is extremely unlikely. However, could be fun if certain “landmarks” are added . . . 3 - - - The only real mystery in life is just why kamikaze pilots wore helmets? - - -

It's only for LFA7 because it's one of the most used Low Flying Areas in the UK for us and we get a lot of visiting aircraft coming through too, particularly when Cobra's on. I thought someone would be more likely to have a go at a smaller project. Have any of the other terrains done a whole country?
Silver_Dragon Posted yesterday at 11:49 AM Posted yesterday at 11:49 AM (edited) Normandy 2.0 covert the south england to London an the Channel cover only London to Dover on WW2 (only UK terrain, has other europe zones covered). Actuly has no a propper UK modern map on DCS by ED or 3rd parties. A map of that scale is too small to be commercially viable. A much larger map would be more advisable. Czar Posted yesterday at 12:06 PM Posted yesterday at 12:06 PM Silver Dragon summed up perfectly, imo. First, as a product, it must be commercially viable. A sim with an independent developer cannot have the luxury of bleeding money through projects like Disney does, for example. Iraq Map, although a massive map in project, already faces critiques of not including X and Y areas nearby. Understandably so for the most part. I cannot see the community happy with a map like this without covering the whole Britain Island -> and then: "why not Ireland too?" -> and then: "it should have at least northern France for the Channel to be tactically useful, tho...". etc... I have no doubt this region is very rich for flight sims and it would produce a hell of a map to fly on. Mandatory: Man, I wish we had the world map. 2

A 3rd party will build a propper GUIK Map zone to cover England / Ireland / etc. GUIK has a propper combat zone. 47 minutes ago, Czar said: Mandatory: Man, I wish we had the world map. ED has working on the "World Map". (15:25).
