Coffin Corner Posted Thursday at 01:26 PM Posted Thursday at 01:26 PM (edited) The latest update with the MiG-29 Fulcrum module completely broke DCS World for me. A few days ago everything was fine, but after yesterday (update 2.9.20.15010) after selecting and launching any module, a loading screen appears and nothing happens. After an hour of waiting, the only thing left to do is to close the program using the Task Manager. I tried checking and repairing files in the launcher, but it didn't help... What should I do? dcs.log Edited Thursday at 03:11 PM by Coffin Corner 1
scommander2 Posted Thursday at 01:33 PM Posted Thursday at 01:33 PM May I suggest to attach DCS log files so users can review them? 1 Spoiler Dell XPS 9730, i9-13900H, DDR5 64GB, Discrete GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, 1+2TB M.2 SSD | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + TPR | TKIR5/TrackClipPro | Total Controls Multi-Function Button Box | Dell 32 4K UHD Gaming Monitor G3223Q | Win 11 Pro

What should I do? really need to see the dcs log for clues. but if it is just a black screen after launching dcs try rename Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor to MissionEditor.old and restart DCS. 2 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? OmasRachE Posted Thursday at 02:03 PM Posted Thursday at 02:03 PM I had similar problems the last two or three weeks, where I sometimes could not enter a cockpit, since the game froze after I selected an aircraft and wanted to start the session. After yesterdays patch I could not start and restarting the game or restarting my Quest 3 did not help. But luckily for me a slow repair solved it. At least for yesterday evening. Could you check if there is a crash report window in the background? I did see such a window and even sent a crash report with it. I´m curious if this will be a problem again this evening or if the slow repair did the job once and for all.
Coffin Corner Posted Thursday at 03:13 PM Author Posted Thursday at 03:13 PM Thanks for the responses. I've added a log file to the post. To clarify the situation. DCS World doesn't freeze, it just refuses to load after selecting a specific module.
Coffin Corner Posted Thursday at 03:22 PM Author Posted Thursday at 03:22 PM The advice from BIGNEWY helped with renaming the Mission editor directory Thank you very much for the quick and successful help
OmasRachE Posted Friday at 06:28 AM Posted Friday at 06:28 AM Little update from my side. Seems like the slow repair didn´t solve the problem. Yesterday I had no chance of getting in the cockpit. What worked for me was to kill the metashaders2 folder. 1
Hikaruncat Posted Friday at 11:11 AM Posted Friday at 11:11 AM Since this patch, I've also been experiencing issues with the loading screen, where the bar doesn't move even a millimeter. I've removed the game's mods and checked the integrity, but there's been no change. I can't play the game, even when loading missions or instant actions.

If that doesn't solve the problem, I'll post a log. Would it be better to start a new thread instead of replying to this one? Thanks.
