Kurnass1977 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 (edited) Hello @Nix Mills, for the second time the debrifing message stated that committed fratricide. The only target really danger close is the ambush, with the new bomb blast radious is very simple kill blue troop at a 100m distance. Also, there're again discrepancy between the HUD indicated altitude and the real one. Any idea? Edited Friday at 05:36 PM by Kurnass1977
Kurnass1977 Posted Sunday at 05:38 PM Author Posted Sunday at 05:38 PM Ok tried replace a fuel tanks with a Lmav for his smaller blast radius but nothing changed and the ambushe friendlies don't survive ,also look how much difference there're between the HUD indicated altitude and the real, even with modified QFE

Difference between these two is temperature effect. What's the temperature in the mission? Also, don't set QFE, almost nobody flies QFE anymore. You either set QNH or QNE/standard above the transition altitude.
Kurnass1977 Posted Sunday at 08:05 PM Author Posted Sunday at 08:05 PM Probably I misunderstood the QFE and QNH , the gauge in the circle is used to set the QNH right ( in this mission by default id 29,90 if remember correctely)? About the temp really don't know the value, need to check if is present ( surely not in the mission briefing PDF) Also sorry for my ignorance, which is the transition altitude? Thanks

Yes, you set it there. 10 hours ago, Kurnass1977 said: About the temp really don't know the value, need to check if is present ( surely not in the mission briefing PDF) Should be in the ingame briefing. 10 hours ago, Kurnass1977 said: Also sorry for my ignorance, which is the transition altitude? Thanks Depends on the airport, but around 5000ft is a decent altitude to switch the altimeter.

Normally I set the altimeter to radar when on the ground ( and carrier) and to Baro after the 5000ft, adjusting the QNH to match the true altitude. But in this mission even with the altitude set to the max ( in the pics you can see the value of 31.00 is impossible to read on thr HUD the correct, real altitude. BTW, temperature is +28°

You set the QNH given by the briefing on ground so your altimeter reads the elevation above mean sea level. Above the transition altitude you set QNE/Standard to get flight level. 2 hours ago, Kurnass1977 said: But in this mission even with the altitude set to the max ( in the pics you can see the value of 31.00 is impossible to read on thr HUD the correct, real altitude. There is no real altitude, only altitude in relation to your selected reference altitude. That's either flight level, level above ground (height), altitude above MSL, density altitude or other. Temperature affects your altimeter so it reads something different than height, that's normal. You don't compensate for that normally. 2 hours ago, Kurnass1977 said: BTW, temperature is +28° That's one of the main reason for the devaition you see. Edited Monday at 08:22 PM by razo+r 1

Nix Mills Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Hi there @Kurnass1977. Thanks for reporting the fratricide for M15. This is caused by the increased blast effect that was introduced with one of the recent DCS updates. Not complaining, though, because it is much more realistic now. However, it has lead to several missions having to be tweaked. I'll make sure to update this one also with the next update release. As for altitude, all of the above is correct. What you see on your instruments is not 'true' altitude. This is why you'll sometimes see both altitudes and fuel states being called out a little bit off from what you see on your instruments - and not only in Rampagers, but also in DCS' own comms with the carrier.

Thx for the info @Nix Mills I already knew the discrepancy in the indicated altitude on HUD and normally adjusting the QNH did the trick, but this time is impossible. For any good count, if I stay at 24000ft ( indicated on HUD) , I respect the airspace rule or is a penalty? Thx for the support for this great Campaign, I love all the mission played 'till now
