Raven434th Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Why am I getting radar locked symbol in my HMD using irst when I have the radar turned off???...is it a bug? ,or does it turn it on when a lock command is issued...OR... is it the missile radar that's locking the target?? IRST and Radar lock interfaces are pretty much identical on HUD. It is impossible to lock with radar or missle head as R-27 are not fox 3. Maybe you are referring to IR (ТП) lock ? 1

In other words, what's activating the radar if its in a "no illumination" mode? EKV/dummy is an auto mode, if you put Reese there it should turn on automatically when needed 2. yes HMD symbology is same for radar or IRST lock. Two dashed circles. Raven434th Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago (edited) I believe I figured out the problem,,, in the irst video by grim reapers the same picture you posted above which is from the manual, is different from the one he shows in the vid.., its labeled on top as ir and radar lock above the solid circle with cross. Which I interpeted as a radar lock.He even comments about it in the vid as thinking the radar was off and was surprised to see it was on. This is what confused me. I expected a broken circle as my radar was off. I will grab a screen shot to illustrate what I mean and post it here ,then you can see my confusion.So the question now is, does the hmd lock method alert the target with radar illumination by automatic comming on when locking in hmd? I assumed it was a stealthy mode.
