moran Posted Sunday at 01:53 PM Posted Sunday at 01:53 PM (edited) Hi everyone! This is a small mod, just one file handling the animation of the fire proceeding the crash of a vehicle in land. This animation as far as I know has always been broken. And a couple of enhanced resolution files (4) for flipbooks used in the animation. OvGME for installation is preferred, if not, you have to overwrite the system file located in the main installation: ... \DCS World\Bazar\shaders\ParticleSystem2\smoke.fx ... \DCS World\Bazar\Effects\ParticleSystem2\xxxx.dds This is my first mod so bear with me, I would like to see if this is working on your end. Inside the file there are a lot of modifiers defined with comments to experiment and find all kind of combinations. I will always leave the comments for some tinkering people if you want to take a look and experiment. Fly safe! Moran_ENHANCED_fire_v1.zip Edited Sunday at 03:03 PM by moran updated info 2 2
Devrim Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Thanks. That's nice, but "enhanced" one looks like we blow up a propane tank. :)) Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068

BUT that shader has too many equations for my brain, the goal here was to have a stable animation from far way. The fireball aspect I think it's correct in size but I had a difficult time decoupling the flames and the smoke, the fire should consume in seconds and then just smoke and barely any flames visible. Almost all crashes have the fuel consumed in a giant fireball in a couple of seconds like this, I will try to see if I understand how to tune that!
