Hi all. I am faced with a dilemma. winwing failed to deliver half of a HOTAS set-up (both bases) and I am trying to decide if after I have saved enough money (again) should I order the missing bases again, or should I order a HOTAS from another company such as Moza or Thrustmaster. What are your thoughts?

Definitely get a FFB base for the stick if you can afford it. You will never regret it. FFB is the future. All other types of bases will slowly die out.

Will a winwing NavyAce Metal Joystick work on a Moya base?
I'm think you mean Moza. I believe you can purchase an adapter or something. But then you might need the Winwing base. I'm not sure. I only use TM compatible products.

Will a winwing navy ace stick grip work on a moza ab9 base?

Yes, the Winwing Navy Ace grip can work on the Moza AB9 base—with the right setup and firmware. Here's what you need to know:

✅ Compatibility Overview

  • Physical Fit: The grip connects using a standard 5-pin interface, which the AB9 base supports.

  • Firmware Requirements:

    • Moza Cockpit software: Version v1.0.3.30 or later

    • AB9 base firmware: Version 1.1.1.30 or later

  • Grip Type Setting: In Moza Cockpit, set the Grip Type to WW-16 under Grip Settings.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • “Disconnected” Status: The grip may show as “Disconnected” in Moza Cockpit—this is a known bug. If button inputs register correctly, the grip is functioning as expected.

  • Button Mapping: You can test inputs via the Windows Game Controllers panel. Most buttons should light up, though some may exceed what the applet can display.

🛠️ Setup Tips

  • If you're using an extension adapter (like QR4Rigs), newer Navy Ace grips with locating ridges don’t require the rubber washer. Older flat-interface grips do.

  • Always verify button response in both Moza Cockpit and your sim/game to confirm full functionality.

After giving it some serious thought I ordered both the throttle base and stick base off of Ebay since I already have the grips and I can't afford a Moza Hotas. I'm still very disappointed with winwing and their customer service. 😞

Kdrum is talking about a HOTAS. You talk about and FFB stick that cost 700 dollar. Next to that there is no native FBB support from DCS per aircraft. Its just about the MOZA settings. I race a lot and all games i play have such different FFB: F1 2024 vs LMU is a WORLD of difference. And as long as there is no native FFB support per aircraft my opinion is: the hardware market is FFB ready, the flightgames are not.

I7-4790K with Corsair H110 / Asus Maximus VII HERO / 2 x 8 GB Corsair Platinum 2400 / Asus GTX980ti / OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB for OS / Corsair ax760i / Corsair Carbide 540 / Samsung EVO 500GB for games

/ CM 690 / Track IR5 / Logitech Extreme 3D / Saitek Proflight yoke, rudder & two USB throttle quadrants / Saitek X55 /

VRinsight TT planel / Thrustmaster T500RS / Samsung SM P2770HD / 1000 cables.....

You might want to read the OP again, where the Moza base is literally mentioned.
I do know however what HOTAS means, Hands On Throttle And Stick, as I got my first Thrustmaster set in the early 90s.
I'm not talking about an FFB stick. I'm talking about FFB bases, you can get without the stick, (extension in my world), and grips. According the reviews I would stay clear of Moza grips.
I am just giving advice, so people won't have regrets and waste their money.
The reason why I recommend FFB, is that you will get a better experience from how the stick/base whatever gives feedback in the game. I'm not talking about "rumble" effects, (which I personally turn off anyway). I'm talking about being able to trim like in a real helicopter. Having the stick move when you trim in the F-5E/F-14/F-4E. Feel the roll limiter in the F-5E, and having the stick displaced forward. Also in FC modules and A-10s+. Having the stick being limp when there's no airflow over the surfaces, like in the WWII, MB-339, C-101 modules. It's not perfect, but please do enlighten me to which DCS modules that do not have FFB support. And I emphasise, I'm NOT talking about shooting guns, dropping bombs etc.
You're absolutely entitled to your opinion, as I am to mine. Even if your attitude discourage people from getting FFB, which eventually will lead to slower support.

OP has made a decision. Good on him. This thread is probably done for.

Cheers!
