Doubt it, it was close enough for me to eat a Fox 2 into the face. Radar shows aiming que but no LA and no R distance markers after a cirtain point. Had it happen a couple of times in MP aleady, got lucky this time to have it on a first engagement so that track file is short enough and not broken.

Here are some screenshots from the replay. At some point the radar stops track and IRST takes over. Why? never dropped the lock never changed the radar setting. Then as seen on the last screenshot, distance is 4 km head on and all stations are highlighted indicating there is a weapon solution for all weapons but could not launch any of them.

Well it looks like you get launch zones just fine with radar. 
 

If you flipped coop switch forward the IRST will pick up a lost radar pocket if it can. 
 

Laser has short 3-6.5 km range in IRST mode. After 8 seconds you should get radar ranging but not sure that’s implemented yet. 
 

With IRST lock you can always go to coop mode ( coop switch forward and radar to DUMMY) then you will get instant radar ranging and launch zones to launch R-27R/ER when you want 

 

Radar can also switch to IRST if you select IRST mode with Radar lock when IRST is in range and coop moved forward

I thought COOP switch was INOP at this time. Gonna try and fly with it off but still it is weird why would the plane switch to IRST in close range high aspect high closure rate and nowhere near Rmin for R27. Seems like a bug to me.

Something I noticed is that when in coop mode if I lock a target and at a fairly long distance with the helmet mounted site. -say 15 km- the irst will lock, and I will eventually get my R73 preped and ready to fire, but the radar will still not fully lock, and prep the R27R radar missiles till several seconds after the R73 are ready to fire. This is annoying because I often want to throw the R-27R out at further range to press the target.

Gotcha that then tracks. Is there any way to use any coop mode and lock radar past 10km?

1. IRST scan 

2. Lock target, radar will range out to 35-40 km, but display scale maxes at 25 km. 
 

And of course, there is radar more it self. 

Lately been trying to lock in radar so I get iff, then switch to IRST mode so it switches to IRST then I can set radar switch to dummy

If R-27R always takes 4 seconds to prepare why if I lock them inside max range do they seem ready in less then 2 seconds?
