Lixma 06 Posted Sunday at 04:55 AM Posted Sunday at 04:55 AM During a mission tonight I encountered some kind of automatic G-limiter. It activates/deactivates at appx. 950kp/h and drastically limits pitch and yaw inputs. controls widget.mp4 This has never happened before and I've no idea what caused it to appear. I don't believe I hit any autopilot controls. Also, it wasn't 'awake' for the first few minutes of the mission, and it only lasted about five minutes before vanishing again. Here's a video from the point when I realised something weird was going on. wtf g-limiter.trk
AeriaGloria Posted Sunday at 05:25 AM Posted Sunday at 05:25 AM That does look odd. What about your AOA gauge, it is frozen, is this the English cockpit bug this patch or is pitot heat or some other switch off perhaps? Either way, it’s stuck at 15 degrees, and with LEF flap down as we see in your turns the AOA limit should be 26 degrees. When it hits the AOA limit the stick and elevators are automatically tilted down 2 or 15 degrees depending on speed. It becoming “awake” part way into the mission also makes me suspect pitot tube freezing. Pitot tube freezing could also affect ARU and reduce elevator authority at speeds where it shouldn’t reduce it so much. 1 Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
Lixma 06 Posted Sunday at 01:35 PM Author Posted Sunday at 01:35 PM (edited) I didn't even notice the AoA guage had frozen. The mission was air-start so pitot heating was already on (at least the switch was up). Playing around some more. I couldn't coax the pitch limiter to appear again, but the yaw limiter seems to be a feature rather than a bug. E: bit more testing - the limiter kicks in at 1040kp/h @ sea level - well, the yaw limiter does. I've been unable to coax the pitch limiter out of hiding. Edited Sunday at 02:18 PM by Lixma 06
AeriaGloria Posted Sunday at 07:38 PM Posted Sunday at 07:38 PM Above a certain speed a pedal stopper appears at 1/3rd pedal deflection that requires extra force to move the pedals beyond that point.
