An F/A-18C Lot 20 Cockpit that Looks and Feels... Right (56° FoV)

Stand in front of a window. Stand close to it and see how much you see through it. Now go as far as you can from it and compare how much you see.

The screen is your window into a plane cockpit, the fov is the angle you see through the window, the closer to it you are the wider you want it to be. The larger the window, the larger the angle.

You are the OP, you simply agree with yourself and ignore everyone else's counterarguments. I'm sure this is a good way to avoid any threat to your own convictions, but it's not the right approach for a forum.

OP - Opening Post.

Where one will find what most failed to read.

Does your vision change, or just the view?

'Internal view' - in DCS, modifies vision.

OP means "originar poster". You.

Pretty much everything you post is wrong. That's a rare talent.

"originar poster"...

Thank you for your insight and contribution to this topic.

OP - Opening Post.

So many hurt feelings - over a human view from the cockpit of DCS A/C.

What's your agenda here?['''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

And that last nonsense of quotes at the end?  It quite literally is my cat typing, becasue my cat puts his hands on the keyboard, like a RWR system for people who are trolling.

How did this work out for you?

Set:

SnapViews["FA-18C_hornet"] = {
[1] = {-- player slot 1

...

[13] = {--default view
        viewAngle        = 41.000000,--FOV 44.180000(60°), 41.000000(56°), OEM 63.000000 "FA-18C_hornet"
        viewAngleVertical= 0.000000,--VFOV
        hAngle            = 0.000000,--    (View Center)/(Cam View Dn-Slow)(-30°)
        vAngle            = -30.000000,-- Cockpit View  Angle   0.000000, OEM -15.700000  (Note: reset from '0.000000,' for this exercise.
        x_trans            = 0.015000,-- Cockpit View In_Trans 0.015000(60/56°), OEM 0.130000
        y_trans            = -0.017000,-- Cockpit View Up_Trans -0.017000, OEM -0.008300
        z_trans            = 0.000000,-- Cockpit View Rt_Trans 0.000000, OEM 0.000000
        rollAngle        = 0.000000,
        cockpit_version    = 0,

This will convert the default 'center view' - to a 30° down angle view from the proper eyeball location.

Adjust 'viewAngle', (higher numbers = increased FoV) until you match this:

x-trans-0-015000-56-Panel.jpg

Then reset 'vAngle  = -30.000000,' back to 'vAngle  = 0.000000,'.

Does DCS change your eyes or how much you see through the screen which is a window? I'm sure DCS doesn't do surgery on my eyes.

Sorry, but the generally accepted meaning of OP in an internet forum context is "ORIGINAL POSTER".  YOU may use it as "Opening Post", but 99% of other users understand that as "Original Poster".  And it is referring more to the poster than to the actual 1st post of thread.

'Internal view' - in DCS, modifies vision, with magnification.

So it is essentially changing the prescription of your glasses.

Near sighted - 20/20 - Far sighted.

The mk.1 eyeball uses the 20/20 setting.

And that is 52.5 MIL's/° of Viewing Angle.

Postage stamp to Jumbo-tron, from 30" or 30'.

Human view.
